It's Wednesday, half way through the work week. So I thought it'd be nice to take a little break from work/school/childcare/whatever you don't want to do, and have a little poll. Just for the fun of it!

Because it's the Holiday Season lets start our Wednesday Work-OUT with that!!

Do you have a schedule for your holiday plans(1day with FIL, 1 day with your family)?

Because we're getting married are you getting your FI something special this year for the holidays?

Do you plan on getting anyone in your BP a gift, it doesn't have to be just because they are in the BP.

What is your favorite thing about this time of year?

Do you have a schedule for your holiday plans(1day with FIL, 1 day with your family)?
We do, Christmas eve is usually with my side of the family, and all of Christmas day is with Shawn's side. However most of the time my family does Christmas a different day entirely. This year it was Nov 18th because my little sister was back from DC.

Because we're getting married are you getting your FI something special this year for the holidays?
We have decided not to. We both are paying for the wedding ourselves so we have chosen to get each other a snowblower! I know right, well it's really for Shawn, but oh well! I won't have to shovel!!

Do you plan on getting anyone in your BP a gift, it doesn't have to be just because they are in the BP.
I am not, I usually have gotten the ladies in my BP something every year so it will still be the same thing. But not extra special for being in the BP.

What is your favorite thing about this time of year?
I love the look of snow, I say look because I HATE being cold!!

We usually spend christmas eve and morning with my side of the family then go to his mom's house for the rest of christmas day and night.

We aren't sure what we are doing yet. We just ordered our wedding bands so, we might just do that for each other. But i did buy him the Teenage mutant ninja turtles on DVD. lol

I gave everyone in my BP a gift this year because i am related to them and i always do anyway.

What is your favorite thing about this time of year?
Snowboarding with my FI and putting up the christmas tree with my nieces.

What a good way to get to know one another!!

Do you have a schedule for your holiday plans(1day with FIL, 1 day with your family)?

Weekend of Christmas with FI's family and NYE weekend with my family. My family always does it after so it works out well to always go to both.

Because we're getting married are you getting your FI something special this year for the holidays?

Nothing overly special. We would like to save money for the wedding, but we both enjoy buying gifts for each other so we could never say no gifts!

Do you plan on getting anyone in your BP a gift, it doesn't have to be just because they are in the BP.

I would normally give them something so I am not really giving them anything just because they are party of my BP.

What is your favorite thing about this time of year?

Christmas music and movies, snow days and spending time with family and friends! And sledding with the fam!

Do you have a schedule for your holiday plans(1day with FIL, 1 day with your family)?

My family and I always go to my grandmother's in Michigan over Christmas, and this year my FI will be coming with me. The two of us went down to St. Louis and stayed with his family over Thanksgiving week so I guess we are technically switching off the holidays.

Then on the 27th we are flying to Japan for almost three weeks, a plan we made before we got engaged. So excited

Hmm, I actually haven't gotten him anything yet (or thought of anything to give him). I don't really need anything more from him since I got my shiny engagement ring last month! I would like to get him something though.

Do you plan on getting anyone in your BP a gift, it doesn't have to be just because they are in the BP.

Given how my BP is going to be my sisters, his sister, and my best friend and his best friend--and possibly my future brother-in-law--yes, we'll be getting them gifts, though unnconnected to the BP thing.

What is your favorite thing about this time of year?

Though I don't like the dark and the cold, I like the yearly tradition of spending time with family over the holidays. I also like baking, cooking, and making warm drinks in the wintertime, and snuggling up under a blanket with my FI

Do you have a schedule for your holiday plans(1day with FIL, 1 day with your family)?
It's a traditional costume in my country/family, to celebrate the Christma's eve, to have a brunch the other day and really rest the rest of the day doing something else together. And FI has his daughter's visit set up exactly like this as well.
Because we're getting married are you getting your FI something special this year for the holidays?
Probably we will get a gift for each other but nothing expensive or that special because the upcoming weddingd and because the big trip to Brazil when my middle son died. And on top of it, I am not really in the mood for anything else. I will attend the Christmas celebration just because my other two sons, FI and his daughter.

They are in my list anyways because they are an important part of my life.
What is your favorite thing about this time of year?
Christmas itself because is about hope and God's promise fulfilled. It's about Jesus and because this I love. But this year it will be very difficult for me and I am praying to God to help me going through these celebration with a crushed heart by the pain of losing a child. And I know that He will do it!

medusia-- I'm very interested in Japan, have been since I was about 11 or 12. I majored in Japanese as an undergrad and studied abroad there, and now I am in grad school for literary translation, translating from Japanese. I would even go as far as to say Japan is my adopted country

I haven't been back to Japan since I finished study abroad in May of 2007, so I've been very anxious to go back. My FI has never been and so we decided to go together over our winter break (he is also a grad student). I get to play tour guide since I'm the one who knows Japanese and has been there before.
