*Dress Vent*

I'm not just plus sized. I'm a full figured woman with curves!! And mean CURVES! Small waist with booty you can see from the front and wide hips. Maybe i'm being picky but i'm really having a hard time finding a dress that is going to enhance my new found sexiness. I'VE LOST 50 LBS AND I WANT TO SHOW IT OFF! So i know a mermaid/trumphet would look great on me but seems no one has them in my size! (24) and it soo frustrating. I dont want a big poofy dress and that ii. NO way NO how. I mean should i leave my options open or am i wrong for wanting what i want?

No offense but i've been lookin at other plus sized girls in their dress and i jus dont want to look like that so im working on it. I dont want to settle for anything but my wedding is in Feb and i'm running out of time. Dont know what to do and i refuse to order a dress without tryin it on. Sorry jus so frustrated.

I really liked the Vera Wang offerings at Davids, they offer more modern options for plus sized girls. Mine is definitely a little more modern compared to the classic a-line styles they usually put plus size girls in. They even had me in this one (trust me, it looks more like a mermaid when you have it on with the right slip), but the Vera won out for me.

There definitely are more sexy options, you just have to be diligent.

David tutera for Mon cheri has plus size mermaid/ fit and flare styles. Alot of lines do. You should definitely be able to find a sexy shaped dress!

Be open to your options! Tell the people what you want, but also be willing to try on things you didn't think you wanted. I wanted a lot of bling and was very against flowers, but guess what, i have very little bling and lots of flowers on my dress.

But i would start your search for the dress NOW! You don't have to much time left and it will take awhile to get it in. Good luck!

You should try Alfred Angelo or Mori Lee. Both have amazing and beautiful plus size selections. Depending on where you are located in NoCal. Try Trudys in Campbell (Near San Jose). Their plus size selection is great. Alfred Angelo goes up to 30W. They have a signature store in Roseville and they have lots of plus size samples.

Just an FYI. I found that almost every Mori Lee was very figure flattering for us plus size girls. I bought two of them, and ended up selling one.

this is my dress (the one I am keeping/wearing in September) Just to give you an idea on what it looks like on a real person. Mine is a modified A-line. Fitted through the bootie, and then flares to an A-Line. But, I bought a mermaid also, in case I wanted to change into a reception dress and it was just as flattering.

I went to alfred angelo and davids bridal and they didn't have samples that would fit so I could get a good pic I wanted something that would show off my curves especially since I'm having a beach theme wedding but mermaid fit in flare and A line just didn't look good on me so I went to a boutique that sold mori lee and I loved her dresses I tried on 3116 thats something u might love it looks good just not on me lol! I believe her gowns are made with plus size in mind...my dress is Mori Lee but its kinda ball gown everyone and me fell in love with it so I'm breaking the rules for my resort wedding...keep u options open also u never know what u might fall in love with

i tried on Mori Lee at a small bridal salon i went to and the gowns are amazing but weren't what i was looking for. I ended up going with a fit and flare from davids bridal. If you call ahead they can tell you what dresses they have to try on.
