Marriage License

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone knows if courts will give exceptions for military weddings. My FI and I want to get married before he deploys and we would need to get the license at least 7 days but no later than 30 days before the wedding.  Unfortunately, he is stationed in NC and I'm in WI. He'll probably only have two weeks home and I'd like to spend most of it married. Any ideas?

I think it would depend on your state, but when I was researching it for my own wedding, I don't think so. I know in FL that there is no waiting period if you don't live there, but for any residents of the state, then there is a 3 day waiting period.

ok quick google search brought me this info
ExceptionA waiver of the waiting period may be granted for an additional fee of $25.00, but only if you cannot apply in time to meet the waiting period for the following reasons:bride and/or groom live in another state and coming here to marrybride and/or groom are/is in the military and suddenly called to active dutybride or groom is terminally ill.
ETA: I googled search for Wisconsin marriage licenses.

AHHHH thank you!!! Hopefully that'll work! I'll have to make some calls to make sure. Still getting adjusted to military life and don't know how everything works.

I agree with what GGgirl said, also I would look it up for your county. I'm in LAX and I know our rules are different than Dane county. I'd check out your county.

In my state it is 24 hour period.  You can call the probate or clerk of court (I cannot remember where we ended up) to get all of the details.  I needed my Social Security card and pictue ID and H needed just his military ID since it still has his SSN on it.
