Kids Activities

Hey ladies!

So I'm working on a coloring book for the kids at my reception that has a word search and a maze included in it. Does anyone else have any ideas as to what else I can put into their favor bags to keep them busy while the adults are talking/dancing? My reception is in a museum and as much as I LOVE all the kids that are coming to the wedding, I don't want to be held responsible for any broken artifacts because they got bored!!!

Any suggestions are welcome....so far I have the coloring books and crayons.

Re: Kids Activities

  • GO to the dollar store they have things you can give them.  For a Christmas party I had a few kids over and I got them things like a car they build and a top they could spin.  How old are the kids?  Maybe a book they could read?  The activity coloring books are great it sounds like that maybe what you got them. If you have acess  to a computer then you can look up coloring pages maybe wedding related ones.

  • A few things off the top of my head:

    - glow sticks
    - cards
    - small games
    - mini jigsaw puzzles
    - slinky
    - silly putty
    - fruit snacks
    - apple dippers (the ones that comes with sliced apples and either peanut butter or caramel)
    - juice box

Obviously you probably don't want ALL of those things, or some might not be age appropriate for the younger kids.
  • Yes, I actually found a customizable printable coloring book that you can put your own names and date on and it has the maid of honor and the best man with spots for their names as well....it's actually really cute.

heres a link to the site...

  • Playing cards.  I've also seen wedding activity books for kids with word searches and things like that in them. Coloring books is a good idea too.

YES!!! Put a disposable camera and a "I Spy" list. Have them take pictures of ttems around the wedding like the brides bouque or even someones place card. They'll have fun and when the pictures get developed you'll have pictures of decor or items from your wedding which can be used in a photo album later. Make sure if your camera has 35 pictures you make 35 quests for them and use up the entire camera. I'm using this.
