Newport Reception Site

Hi Everyone,

Im currently in the planning stages for my wedding, and am looking for a reception site in Newport.  We're hoping to get married late August/Early September of 2012 and have a budget between $20,000 and $25,000.  We plan to have between 125 and 150 guests.  Is there anywhere in Newport that can accommodate this? I know that its super expensive there.  Any info is appreciated.  Thanks!

Check out the Easton's Beach Rotunda Ballroom. It's right on the beach and is pretty much a blank slate for you to decorate: http://www.cityofnewport.com/departments/economic-development/ballroom/home.cfm

Hey-I got married this past August 21 on the North Lawn at Fort Adams, the rental of the lawn was around $4000 but do keep in mind you have to rent a tent, etc.  It is the best kept secret in Newport with unobstructed views of the Bridge, harbor and bay...good luck!

I would also suggest Atlantic Beach Club- it's in Middletown, but right over the line- and their prices are good.

Also, consider a Sunday afternoon or Friday evening wedding to save $ in Newport.

I tried to do a wedding on the same budget in Newport and found that Easton's Beach and ABC were my best shots-- at the end of the day we ended up looking outside of Newport as there are many beautiful "ocean" locations nearby without the hefty price tag.

Thanks everyone...ill definitely be looking into those options.  I also like the yachting center.  I spoke to them and it looks like they may be able to keep the price within reason.....

I looked into the Yachting Center and the Regatta Place for a Friday night wedding.  The Regatta is more expensive but so worth it and my budget is only a little bit more than yours for about the same guest count.  I really liked the Yachting Center too though they had great food and bar options.  Good luck with your search!

That budget might be tight on a Saturday night, but if you do a friday or sunday you could definately make that work in Newport.

In addition to what the other ladies have mentioned, I would also check out the Hyatt on Goat Island.

I was on a sailboat ride with my fiance around Newport Harbor that day, and saw your wedding from the water!!  It was so gorgeous, congratulations!!

How about Waite's Wharf...at Dockside,  @ The Deck, or out there on the docks.

I got married at the Yachting center b/c I had too many guests for Regatta.  I loved the location of Yachting Center too b/c it allowed folks to stay downtown and within walking distance.  Additionally we had a Trolley which was a fun Newport element.
I don't know what its like now that they are catered by Newport Harbor Association.  When I was there Blackstone managed the property and they were absolutely amazing!!! They worked with our budget (which was almost as small as yours and we had over 200 people).
Since you're still looking I would recommend contacting Karen Conely from Blackstone to see what other properties they manage that you might be interested in.  They were truly tremendous.
I attached a pic of the sunset off the

.  We took this right after the ceremony and it is not touched up at all.  It was an absolutely gorgeous fall day!!

    What a beautiful picture!!

We're leaning toward the NYC...and will probably book it site unseen.  Unfortunately, im in Buffalo and my fiancée is currently out in the Seattle area and its the time of year that places start booking up fast.  Adrienne at the NYC has been awesome.....but asked that we make a decision fairly soon as there are others that are interested in our date.

I have two final questions (hopefully).  The first is the location of the yachting center.  Is it crowded down there on the dock? I know that Newport can be hectic in the summer and we're pushing for a late August wedding date.  I'd hate to have music from a neighboring tent competing with the DJ in ours! ;)

Also, im hoping that the tent will be somewhat cool that time of year...and lastly (i know I said two questions), did the NYC have a decent sized dance floor?

Again, i'm 99% sure that we'll be booking it site unseen....so this will be my last push of questions.  Thanks again everyone!
