Monmouth County Reception Site

I'm looking for an intimate, preferably on water, inexpensive reception site...any ideas?

A couple girls on here recently got married at the Channel Club and had great experiences. I'd check that one out, and the girls on the boad should be able to help you with more ideas/rec's.

How much are you looking to spend? I cut down elsewhere in my budget so I could have my ceremony/reception at the Molly Pitcher Inn in Red Bank. I had a Sunday wedding & was the only wedding that day so I could choose what time I got married & they lowered my minimum to 100 guests. Cost is between $125 - $137 per person which includes all taxes & gratuity (except for maitre'd), wedding cake & overnight accommodations for the bride & groom. Weddings out on the deck overlooking the river was $5 per chair. BTW I booked in 2009 for a 2010 wedding so their prices may have changed.

I'm really unsure about everything.  I am leaning more towards the small, intimate wedding, and mom , groom and other family are wanting the bigger wedding.  I'd like to spend about 10K for about 100 ppl, i don't know if this is realistic or even possible?

I spent 14k for 100 ppl (which again included ceremony, all taxes + gratuities, cake & our HM suite). It is a little more money than you are looking to spend but we also visited the Channel Club, Waters Edge & Oyster Point which were all less money & more in tune with your budget (except for Oyster Point -- its about the same as MP except they said they'd give us an extra 10% off). My family has been to weddings at Waters Edge & they weren't impressed with food & service. They also give you a minimum amount of money you HAVE to spend which I found annoying. I felt like Channel club was really dated looking. I've eaten at MP before & their food is excellent & their service is top notch.

Also you do not need to get a limo since ceremony & reception are the same place -- we took bridal party/family photos on site & our photographer took us around RB to take photos alone in his SUV.

Other places on or near the water are McLoone's Pier House, the Avenue, Spring Lake Manor, Jack Shanty's, Brielle Riverhouse. Again these may not be in your budget. It really depends on what day of the week as well as the month. You may find better deals from the Jan-March timeframe.

I think for a more intimate wedding, I would've gone with Riverhouse in Brielle- it was just too small for 150 people. I really like the room and the views. We went with Channel Club, and I was very happy with it.

Try Windows on the Water at Frogbridge, I think they are having a bridal show too there soon.

channel club is beautiful. I have worked there many times. I am a live event artist, which means i'm hired to come to weddings and create a painting onsite of the reception. This is a unique treat for the guests, and a true custom piece of art for the couple to cherish.
