I wanted to do personalized m&ms because its one of the first things we gave to each other but they are on the pretty expensive side I think for m&ms. I was thinking about just getting the colors and not personalized but I wanted them personalized in some way. I was planning on using the drawstrings bags, I was thinking an alternative is getting personalized containers but I want clear or light ones so that you can see the colors if the m&ms are not going to be personalized. any suggestions????? or anything that I can DIY??
Re: Favors
1. Take a pass on the personalization. In hindsight it was probably one of the least important/unnecessary components of my daughter's wedding. If you are looking to save any money, eliminating personalization is a good first step.
However, the least costly way to personalize is to simply buy stickers with perhaps the initial of your new last name (if taking it), or make a personalized stamp with a monogram. You can use the stamp to either make your own label/sticker, or stamp directly onto a clear container.
2. Since you aren't going to personalize the M & M's, a slightly less expensive but equally yummy chocolate that you can get in just about any color you want would be the smaller, rounder Sixlet chocolate.
I hope those suggestions help or at least springboard you into brainstorming other potential ideas.
but seriously. aside from a 2 second "aw cute", they'll get eaten and forgotten. not worth the extra money in my opinion.
Do the colors, put them in tiny drawstring bags (REALLY cheap on ebay), and DIY a tag with your names and the date and a small 'thank you' note. (easy to do - print a bunch on cardstock, cut them out, hole punch and tie to your bags)
FWIW i made wine charms for all my guests, and put those in drawstring bags, with a tiny thank you card in there too. but personally i think i went way overboard. haha
