Wedding Woes

What?

I was talking to my friend the other night on the phone. Friend is an awesome person, but socially awkward to say the least.

She was all in a tizz because she had accidentally opened her neighbors Capital One bill, because the mailman had put it in her mailbox by mistake.

I told her that it's not that big of a deal, and she should just put a sticky note on it saying it was opened by mistake and put it in their door (it's an apartment complex).

She did not seemed pleased with this suggestion and shrieks, "I don't know what I'm going to do!!!".

You're going to act like a normal 29 year old and give the person back his credit card bill.

I have no idea. I wouldn't care that she opened it, I would want the bill so I can pay it.

This is just one of the many examples of instances where the right thing to do, be it practical or otherwise, is just too daunting for her.

How was your suggestion *not* reasonable to her? and why are you friends with this spazz?

There's no other reasonable alternative.  I don't get it.

She has a heart of gold, but as Wz said, she's just dim.

I thought my suggestion was reasonable. I wanted to make sure I wasn't being ridiculous when I suggested she give the bill back to the person who has to pay it.

So what?  She wanted you to tell her toss it and pretend it never happened?  Or tell her how to magically seal the envelope back up so it didn't look like she opened it?

For S&G, you should have said "OMG! OPENING SOMEONE ELSE'S MAIL IS A FEDERAL OFFENSE!  YOU ARE PROBABLY THE ONLY PERSON EVER TO BLINDLY OPEN MAIL!  YOU MUST GO INTO HIDING SO THEY WON'T FIND YOU!"
