if you are doing anything super unique at your wedding or something sort of off from the norm?

Just caught up on my dvr and watched three episodes of "Four Weddings" and there were some of them that did super unique things or are a lil weird about things, like one girl had her whole wedding party dance down the aisle and she sung some of her vows and one girl had a whole pig served at the reception, one girl had a 7:30am wedding and served breakfast before the ceremony....some pretty different things...

Anything different you have going on? If not, what do you hope guests will leave talking about? or still be talking about in a few months after?

    As of right now, we aren't doing anything out of the norm. The guys are gonna wear green chucks at the reception. FI wants his gms to dance but I doubt some of them will be up for that. I hope people remember the paper goods, and all of the decor. I hope they remember the cake and remember having a blast. I hope people think back at our wedding and fondly remembered how they danced their ass off.. and i hope people remember how beautiful i looked. :) hahaha

    Nope, we are exactly the opposite! Everything we are doing is super traditional. It's just our style, I guess. 

    We are having the recessional song be "Ode to Joy", which is traditional, but it also was the national anthem of Rhodesia (now known as Zimbabwe), where FI and his family are from. It's a surprise-- we have it listed as a selection from Beethoven's 9th Symphony in the program so hopefully people won't realize until they hear it. :) That's about the only unique thing we're doing.

    Nothing too out of the ordinary. I just want people to remember and see all the little personalized details. I have done a lot of DIY projects that will probably stand out. FI has made the beer, I made a cardbox with monogram, unity candle, memory candle, custom stamped napkins, handmade centerpieces with monogram, photo guest book, matted signature photo frame, Also, i want my guests to remeber our love andhow much fun they had!

    Not anything super unique, but definitely not traditional either.  We plan on a bonfire on the beach a s'mores after the reception and we're doing cupcakes instead of wedding cake, no bridal party, our music is not traditional, no garter toss/bouquet toss, a slide show.  I hope people remember the music and how fun it was, how "us" it was and, like sarack, how awesome I look!  : )

    I'm accenting our wedding with a Broadway theme. It won't be overly theatrical or anything, just little things like Playbill programs and different shows for the tables (as opposed to numbers), uplighting, and showtunes worked into the ceremony and reception. Oh, and the groomsmen will wear tophats and canes! We wanted to be different and share our passion with our family and friends, but also not to go overboard with it.

    The only thing that I can think of that I am doing is my dress.  I look terrible in all white and really didn't want something super traditional.  That said I am having my dress (a traditional wedding gown) made in all black.  I hope that at the end of the night my guests will have had a great time and look back on it as a great evening spent with friends.

    Jennuinne - Mmm....s'mores and bonfire....

    Not that I can think of.  For dessert we will be also having an ice cream sundae bar as well as the cake and some fruit.  Can you tell I have a sweet tooth? :)

    The only thing that we did that was a little different than normal is we had our cocktail hour before our ceremony.  Our guest list was really small and a few of our guests were coming from more than two hours away (and a couple are always late to everything), so we figured it would give people who didn't know each other a chance to meet and allow our to not worry about being late.  It worked out great and I am soooo glad we did this.  It really made for a much more relaxed day for us.

    mine was unique as it wasn't a typical chinese wedding....normally, chinese weddings hardly have a ceremony, if they have one at all, and after that it's a big reception at a chinese restaurant with songs and games. we had a pretty traditional american wedding....so it wasn't "unique" by that standard.

    Nope, I have also been married before though.  I got pregnant pretty young and after my daughter was born felt pressured into marrying her dad even though I knew it was the biggest mistake.

    I want a little offbeat-ness at the wedding.  A few things I have thought of so far are:
    *cupcakes instead of cake
    *serving local beer and wine (not that unique, but I want our OOT guests to be impressed with WA products)
    *I want to play scenes or maybe the entire movie of Animal House, our wedding is 7 years exactly from our first date (a Toga Party).  Maybe inbetween a slide show of FI and myself.
    *A "Tea Bar", I love tea, and want to offer a decent selection of non-alcoholic drinks.
    *We are getting married in a Barn venue, not that unique, but no one from our friends or family has been married in a Barn/Farm venue.
    *I want to offer people a chance to play games (Apples to Apples, maybe some other card games) and maybe get some Trivia kinda like on Bar Trivia nights.  Our crowd isn't super into dancing, so I want to offer an alternative to those who don't want to spend the night dancing.

    I want people to remember how much fun they had and how yummy the beer/wine was, how much the wedding was a reflection of FI and I, and how fricking HOT I looked Wink  There is still tons of time, so I might not care so much about the "offbeat" details as it gets closer.
