On a personal note...

Hello ladies! I have a question that is more on the personal side, so if you are a male, I recommend not reading any further ;)
I don't know if it is just me (doubt it!), but I have often wondered how to go about deciding on a wedding date around the lovely "aunt flow" (who is NOT invited to the wedding, btw!). Besides being on birth control, does anyone know something that I may not know to solve this problem?!

Thanks!!! :)

oh man this is pretty much my number one fear-

this may be a tmi also but-oh well...

i get horrible cramps and it never exactly falls on 28 days every time-so every month I've been trying to count to see when Ill be getting it-and every time i do it it almost always falls on the exact day i'm getting married or on the honeymoon at some point--I haven't been on birth control for a few years now because I ran out of health insurance and by time I thought of going on it again -well the doctor told me there was no guarantee that doing the birth control would work.

so i just plan on getting it for that day because well-knowing me-that would happen--
i hope to ask my doctor for a few strong pain killers to use only for that day in case I do get it-i don't want to be doubled over in pain--

well I hope your aunt doesn't come and it all works out!

Good question! I am PRAYING that I don't get my period, but I am considering using my BC meds to skip if it comes to that- so I guess I'm not much help.

How regular is your cycle? Could you count the 24/26/28 days over and over until you get to your desired month and just rule out that week as an option? That's what my mom and all her friends used to do and I guess it worked.

You could also pre plan around some of symptoms- like if you tend to bloat, try to have your dress fitted just a hair looser or if it is back pain, maybe pack some of those thin patches that you apply to your back (like after a hard work out or something) that you can just slap on if need be. And not to be crude, but I heard orgasms can help w/ cramps, so do with that info what you wish haha.

I have no idea. My best advice is just to talk to your doctor and see what she can recommend

if you know your usual time of the month it comes and you are pretty regular than this should be no problem.  If you are not sure wait two months mark on a calendar with a red dot when it starts and ends and that each month and that should be a pretty good indicator.

for those of you that are not very regular, I am sorry :(  I would just suggest going to the doctor to see if they can help any.

There are also good iphone apps (if you happen to have an iphone or ipod touch) that can help track and predict.  But, of course, one off month can throw your best laid plans!!!

try not to get too stressed out because that can throw off your period even on the pill, though as we all know wedding planning is stressful, just keep it at a min.
