La Loteria for Seating

Has anyone else done this or heard of this?
I am thinking of using Loteria cards instead of escort and place cards, but I'm wondering if anyone else has done this, seen it done, or plans on doing it?
There are only 54 cards in a deck so I'm having a hard time figuring out how to use them for more then 54 people. I was thinking of doing the cards by family instead of by individual... any tips are appreciated!
Thanks.

This sounds like SUCH a great idea! Why not get 2-3 decks to cover each of your guests? That way everyone will have one

I haven't seen it done, but that sounds like the best part, though. It's original ... go for it!

I was thinking about it and for some reason I was stuck thinking people couldn't have the same card because they would get confused. I've figured out that it doesn't really matter if I sit the entire same card at the same table, so I am definitely going to do this now!

this is such a cool idea! i was thinking of it too, since my family still plays loteria every friday.  you can also name the tables by card, so everyone that sits in that table gets the same 'card.' i was thinking of putting 'el borracho' for my friend table.  something funny. :) have fun!

I'm doing this too, but I'm having the cards instead of tables numbers.

Really late on posting since I haven't checked TK in forever!  Anyway, I used loteria cards for my numbers, but didn't use the cards alone.  Instead, I matted them on cardstock with numbers.  I don't have a pic in my wedding bio but can post one later when I get home.

Also, I used loteria nueva instead of the old version since it's more vibrant and has newer (less offensive) images--you know which one I'm talking about.  My planning bio has a few images from other weddings that used it under the "reception" tab.

iI am using Loteria cards as escort cards! My mother just came back from Guatemala and she purchased the original loteria decks for me! The small cards I am using as escort cards and The larger cards I am using as table numbers! I am painting/coloring the back to match my venue and colors, laminating it after we write the table number and wallah!
