Father / Daughter Dance (Very Close with My Dad)

Hey girls,

I'm sure there are a ton of posts about this topic but I am having such a hard time trying to find a song. I am extremely close with my dad, he is so much to me, and i love him a lot. I want a song that thanks him for being who he is in my life, as well as is loving/letting go related. Does anyone have any ideas? I have searched through so many site and songs. I thought i'd see if anyone has a hidden gem or just one they've heard that they like.

    Tough Little Boys and Wind Beneath My Wings are two that come to mind...as well as www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmC3rJR7E98&feature=list_related&a=GxdCwVVULXcQJk9XiaXUFGu61XzrS2BL&list=ML&playnext=1">Butterfly Kisses (Idk if you've heard it, although by now most people have, but it's an AWESOME SONG.)  However, if you're like me and don't want to dance to an incredibly popular and well-known song, those may not work for you...I first heard the song www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyUq9g-xq7w">Daddy, by Kendall Payne, right around the time that my fiance and I started dating.  Listening to the lyrics not only helped me to realize how incredibly grateful I am for my dad, despite all the mistakes that he has made and things that I am often tempted to hold against him, but it also helped me realize how strongly I felt for Brian, and how grateful I was to have him in my life as well...I knew instantly that I wanted it for my first dance song-whether I ended up marrying Brian or someone else(But I did really hope that it would be Brian. :P).

    Why not ask your Dad for ideas? I know my Dad already had a song in mind for us to dance to, and I wasn't going to tell him no.

    I picked a bunch of songs I liked ("Wind Beneath my Wings", "Ready, Set, Don't Go", "Forever Young", "I Loved Her First", "Father and Daughter") about 10 I think and gave it to my dad on a CD and let him pick from those.  He ended up picking "Father and Daughter" by Paul Simon...it was different, at least I had never heard it used at a wedding before and it was perfect for us!  I spent a lot of time google-ing songs and listening to them on YouTube...picking the music was my FAVORITE part of planning my wedding.  It's like your personal sound track!  Good Luck!

    I am using this song also! It's great because it's new so its not wat overdone like most father daughter songs and it has just the right amount of sentiment

    By the way- The edwin Mccain song may be hard to find a sample of online because it is newer- If you go to his website it is the very first song that plays

    My dad and I spent some time researching the internet together to find the perfect song because he and I are so close.  Once we heard I'll Always Be Your Baby, we both turned to each other and said - that's it, that's the one.  My dad also said there must've been pollen in the room that day, cause something made his eyes watery!! ;)

    I like "i loved her first" and "stealing cinderella".. They both just have so much emotion with the past, loving her and raising her, and the future, letting her go.

    I love ''I loved her first''.  It really brings tears to my eyes whenever I hear it and I find it's just so full of meaning.

    The song that I want for my dad and I is "Zoe Jane". I love this song ecspecially since my dad and I both like rock music

    I amthinking about  having FI cousin sing "Mommas Song" by Carrie Underwood but changing momma to daddy throughout the song.
