So I normally don't post here. I just offer advice or commentary where it fits for me But I have reached the point where I am OVER everyone ! To begin with a little background my FI was raised by his mother, although his father is "around" and has 3 other kids (18,20, 21). Needless to say they are not all close. When creating our WP , FI stated he did not want his brothers in the WP because it would be too much drama. I thought that sounded crazy so I decided they should be ushers and his sister a BM . Well turns out FI was right. They both just backed out and will not be at the wedding AT ALL !! The reason you ask ....they have freakin soccer games. I never played sports so I dont understand the "commitment" aspect, but I do have siblings and would NEVER miss there wedding. So here I am 48 days out trying to find new ushers . I also feel so bad for FI because his family is not as supportive as mine, his Dad could have told him about this weeks ago when FI asked about getting his brothers attire. I am just over stupid people

I am also have my 2nd bridal shower this weekend OOT and I have a friend who has RSVP for 3 because she invited two of her friends. This is a small intimate shower and I feel she over stepped by inviting someone along with her that wasnt invited. The host said its fine but I think it is just rude . Well I guess I am done lol. Sorry it was so long, just alot to get off my chest and I feel that no onw understands like my knotties

Wow inviting random friends to someone's shower? RUDE. I would have told the host that you are not comfortable with that. Not to be paranoid or anything, but its stuff like that that makes bad things happen (envelopes go missing, gifts/prizes disappear). I have heard a number of stories where that happened and it was very difficult to track down who is was because no one really knew those people.

Cowgirl, I know the two people who are coming so I am not really worried about that aspect. My issue is that this is small intimate shower unlike my first 70 person shower . I do think it is rude though, Like come on there are no plus ones in the shower world lol. Just over it...I am going to enjoy it and move on

But I am still OVER wedding planning, just ready for the big day and my honeymoon !!!

Agreed, I'm over it and just want to get married! I also think it's bizarre to come to a wedding shower if you weren't on the original invite list, I would feel really awkward coming to a shower if I was asked by someone other than the bride or organizer and didn't get a formal invitation. Then again, I'm not a fan of wedding showers anyway (there's only so many toilet paper dresses one can make). People really overstep their boundaries, I never realized until I planned this wedding (Great Uncle has invited 9 people to my wedding, I uninvited 8 of them which was akward).

I am totally dreading the people who decide to invite themselves to the wedding. I am not looking forward to those akward phone calls
