Hair and Make-up

So I need some feed back/advice.  I had my hair and make up trial on Saturday, I love the stylist and make up artist, and I love the way my make up turned out.

For my hair, I went in wanting half up do with curls which is what she gave me and I do love it but I am having some doubts.  Reason being, I have pin straight hair (you can see my profile picture) and it doesn't hold curls the best.  The last picture is taken about 4 hours after my hair was done and you can see that the curls have already settled a lot.  Also, I am torn on whether I want this much done for my hair, or a more simple half up hairstyle.  I am not an over the top person, and my wedding is not extremely formal which I feel this hair style is more like.

Re: Hair and Make-up

  • I have the same dilemma with my hair. That's why I'm giving my stylist one half up do and one up do... depending on the humidity the day of. My hair doesn't hold a curl for anything!

If it helps you, I really like the last pic you posted of your hair a little fallen down!!

  • Matbe it's just me, but I don't think your hair looks too formal. It's loose curls held up half-way. I'm personally not a fan of huge volume on the back of my head, but maybe that's because I have super thin hair that has NO volume, so maybe I'm secretly jealous? The only thing I'd change is make the curls on the a little less perfect. I think this look is more conducive to a relaxed hair, than a picture perfectly curled hair.
  • I personally like the look of waves/curls that fall out. I think it looks pretty and it will go with your theme if it's overall less formal. By the time it falls out, I think you'll be past most of the formal picture taking anyway, unless you are waiting to do all of them until after the ceremony.

  • I love the way your hair looks here.  I don't think this style will make you look too formal (so long as your dress/shoes/jewelry match the level of formal-ness you are going for)
  • I agree with PPs. I don't think its too formal, but I also really like your hair when the curls are starting to fall out. Gorgeous make up too!
  • May I suggest a loose low up-do. I myself am not too into the formal, glitz and glam stuff. Im going soft. I also have pin straight hair so i am still having my hair curled just so its pretty, but pinned as a low up-do. it is kind of romantic.
