And my stepfathers friend is a wedding photographer. If I like his work, we will probably go with him, and I'm hoping that since he is a family friend he will cut us a deal if we edit our own pictures and make our own albums. Yeah, it would be a lot more work, but I like doing things like that.
[QUOTE]Hi girls. I am trying to do as much as I ccan on my own. I have been totally obsessed with the favors so far. I am actually not very crafty so trying to make my own invites hasn't really turned out so far. I did make my own enagagement notices and got those all mailed off. I ordered Save The Dates and the formal invites. How many favors are you planning on having? And if we order cake boxes does that man we need to order a bigger cake so peole will have some to take home? My wedding is going to be black and white with red roses and candles evrywhere. I love the look of the small balck boxes but cannot figure out a good favor for the inside? Any suggestions? I have candy going into little bags and also the small bride and groom favor boxes so candy is out.Help! Also, I like the daily planner monogrammed books as favors but our wedding is in April. Do you think the planner would be stupid? I need ideas! Any and all are appreciated. Thanks

FI and I are doing a candy buffet. I would say get enough favors for the amount of people coming to the wedding. For a candy buffet it is usually 1/2 candy per guest. I am confused-- are you giving your wedding cake as a favor or just getting boxes for people to take some home? or looking for something similar to put in the boxes you have? If thats the case, you might be able to ask your bakery for sheet cakes to be able to do this instead of getting a bigger wedding cake made. I am biased with wedding cake. FI and I are doing a cupcake tower, and having the top tier be our cake so we can save it for our first anniversary. We will be cutting into a cupcake. I feel cake often just sits at peoples place settings, and I personally don't know how I would feel about getting a piece of the wedding cake as a favor, but that is just me! :)You can always do the candy in the box or chocolates. If you set on the cake there on tons of sites that make "mini" wedding cakes almost the same concept as petit fours. The planner might not be a good idea because we will already be in april. You can always tie in your monogram by making a sticker monogram for your favor boxes. I found this idea at from target : http://www.target.com/p/Black-Heart-Window-Favor-Boxes-25ct/-/A-10799089?ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001&AFID=Google_PLA_df&LNM=%7C10799089&CPNG=home%20decor&ci_sku=10799089&ci_gpa=pla&ci_kw=
Maybe you can do the black boxes with just red candy in it. HTH!
