FI and I are interested in going to Sicily for our honeymoon. We live in England for the time being, so it would be relatively easy and inexpensive to get there, and we've always wanted to go to Italy.

Obviously we will be researching this ourselves, but I was wondering if anyone here has gone, is planning to, or knows anyone who has gone to Sicily for a honeymoon. I know it might be a bit of a long shot but if anyone has any experiences to share I'd be very grateful.

    We stopped in Messina on our mediteranean cruise last year and took a bus into Taormina.  It was absolutely gorgeous.  We did a guided tour up to some ruins.  We actually loved it so much we're planning a return trip to just go to Sicily next year.

    I have been to Taoromina twice and loved every minute of it.  The main town is up a hill and has amazing views of Mt. Etna and the water below.  There are cute beaches that restaurants serve to and an amazing Greek Theatre.  I also went to Catania for the day and that was pretty to walk around.  On my last trip to Sicily, my family and I went to the Aeolian Islands, since that is where my ancestors are from, and those are really pretty.  We got a ferry from Milazzo and it takes you to each one.  One of the islands, Vulcano, is popular for spa treatments.

    for a hm no-but have been 2 times. we split our week in 2010 between catania and selinunte. i also took a cruise in sept 2008 that stopped in messina as well and went to taormina for part of the day adn then spent the rest walking around messina which was nice. my favorite areas were siracusa, agrigento, selinunte and erice.
