Throwing a wedding this weekend

For realz. Mr.Owl's sister and her fiance are getting married at a cute little chapel in columbus and then we're having a family lunch at our tiny apartment (about 12 people). I've been busy but have been trying to make time for little paper crafts for the house so things are festive.

I got a great idea from MissySue to give them a little honeymoon basket since the whole event is so small and simple and they are not going on a honeymoon (they actually just got back from a vacation). So...

any other thoughts of special things I could do? Words of advice or encouragement?

Have a clear/white shower curtain, some markers, and let everyone that comes over write words of encouragement on it for them.

Good luck!! That shower curtain idea is cute, but you could also do one of those platters. With a small group of people, they are perfect!

If you have a digital camera and a half decent picture printer, you could also take pictures of guests as they come in, print them out and put them in a little photo book, then have guests sign before they leave. Kind of like the photo booth idea. You could even buy a bigger photo book so they can put other pics of their wedding in it.

That sounds like so much fun! That is so sweet of you guys to do that for them. I am sure it means a lot to them.

Are you doing all the cooking, too?

I would check out Party City and Hobby Lobby for some decorations. Maybe hang some stuff from the ceiling, I dunno. Or maybe do some white lights esp if you have a patio or porch and if the weather is nice this weekend there.

Glad to hear you don't have to cook, too. That would be exhausting.

Post some pics after the party :)

I'm excited for you, MissOwl! I bet you'll have a really fun time =) Planning parties is so much fun and it's completely rewarding if the party is a hit.

I love the idea of the platter for people to sign since it's a really small group... and having a little photo station set up would probably be something that the couple would really appreciate since I"m guessing they're not hiring a photographer.  I know it I were them I would want pictures =)
