I didn't like her headpiece at all!

I hated it.... I'm sure she wanted to go for that Aremenian princess look- but I didn't think it worked overall- perhaops if she had a different dress on.

I;m sure magazines and other publications/ tv shows will kiss her ass and say how amazing the headpiece was and I'm sure knockoffs are being made as we speak.

I could be wrong, but I don't think she wore it to look like an Armenian princess or to start a new trend.  I believe that it's a tradition during Armenian weddings for the bride to either walk down the aisle with a crown on her head or for the couple to be crowned during the ceremony.  It reminds me of the crowns/stefana used during Greek Orthodox weddings and, in all honesty, if the crown she's wearing is for cultural reasons and to honor her Armenian background then I think it's totally fine.  It doesn't match her dress style because it's not supposed to and it actually looks a little bit like the stefana my husband and I used during our ceremony (minus the fact that hers was likely a million times more expensive).

Keep in mind, I can't stand the Kardashian family and am flabbergasted by their popularity, but in this case I do have to defend her decision if the crown was, indeed, worn for cultural reasons.

ETA: Found this - "The Armenian wedding ceremony reaches its peak in ritual of Crowning. Crowns worn by bride and groom are symbols of their own little kingdom or home. During the crowning bride and groom face each other. The best man stands between them and holds a cross over their heads."  - http://traditionscustoms.com/wedding-traditions/armenian-wedding?page=2

I agree with Peaches on this one... my first thought was that it was to represent her culture, and if that is the case then I think it was definitely appropriate to wear.

I have a friend who wore something similar, across her hairline, but it was chunkier and not related to her culture.... It def is something new but I wouldn't wear it.  I think Kim was trying to hit home with being Armenian and that, I can dig.

Not my style at all, but I think it worked on her, whether she was going for a stylized look or not.

Ditto. Doesn't seem like something she'd just wear for the heck of it.

Closest I'd go to wearing that is a tiara, but one that's subtle and more like a fascinator or headband. But I didn't.

I don't care if she wore it if it was definitely a cultural thing, but I just hope other brides don't copy it just for fashion!

p.s. my FB status earlier today: "I liked my wedding much better than Kim Kardashian's"

Hi ladies! I am born and raised Armenian and we don't wear that as a traditional head dress. I have never seen any bride in my culture wear that! I think she just chose that on her own free will. It would seem less unappealing if it was cultural but it's not!
