I bet you can’t wait. I remember when I just started lining up venders; it was stressful but fun!

My ceremony and reception are at Southern Oaks, so they will take care of the jazz band, DJ, food, and alcohol.

Here’s who I have for everything else:

Photographer: Stacy Marks. He has a photojournalistic approach, which I love! Visit his website. His pictures will make you feel like you’re a part of that person’s wedding. I love that!

Flowers: Kori’s Floral. She is amazing and EXTREMELY well priced. If you Map Quest her, it pulls up her old location. Call her to get the new directions. 504-818-2644

Cake: The Royal Cakery! Their cakes are beautiful and delicious. I’m getting a three tiered cake: one tier butter cake with fresh fruit and the other tiers red velvet cake with cream cheese (Their red velvet makes my heart happy!). I’m getting butter cream icing with a tier of fleur de lis designs and the other two tiers with Swiss dot designs. It will be $4 a slice, but you can definitely bring the price down if that’s too much for you.
They make amazing groom’s cakes as well. They’re off of Morrison. 504-246-2065

I’m still looking for hair, makeup, and most importantly, a minister/justice of the peace. I’m getting married the Sunday before Christmas so it makes some things a little difficult to find.

Good luck with planning! Let me know what you find!

OMG, this is such a helpful thread to have everything written down in one spot!

We are still choosing a lot of stuff but here are the ones we've decided on:

Ceremony - Holy Name of Jesus
    Reception - Nottoway Plantation
    Photographer - Matthew Foster
    Videographer - Studio Vieux Carre
Cocktail hour band - Dr Jazz and the New Orleans Dixieland Sounds
    Party band - Groovy 7

Still trying to decide on cake, flowers, transportation. Haven't gotten around to the hair and makeup yet but it's lurking around back there in the part of my brain that makes me worry about all the things I haven't done yet!

Venue: Pavilion of the Two Sisters (City Park)
    Cake: Haydel's (through City Park)
Photographer: Ardent Studios (formerly Studio Pham)
This is by far the BEST wedding decision I've made! Tim is incredible.
    Videographer: Prodigy
    DJ: Prodigy
Groom's Cake: undecided; I might go with Haydel's to make my life easier.
Flowers: Really need to get that squared away...

    Good luck!!

I'm on a bit of a budget, so I've scoped out the best deals for what I want:

Reception/Ceremony - Wax Museum (www.neworleanswaxmuseum.com) - lower price, includes everything (even centerpieces), lets me bring in my own caterer at no charge!
    Officiant - Mike Zimmer
Ceremony Music - Prodigy Media Group (www.prodigy-mg.net)
Reception Band - Starz Band (www.starzband.com) - great band from what I've heard, and much cheaper than more well known bands and they put on a good show!
Second Line Band - ToBeContinued Brass Band
Cake - not sure yet, meeting with Haydels and Royal Cakery this weekend
Caterer - not sure, probably Benedicts (through Wax Museum)
Photography - Sabree Hill - she'll be new to New Orleans, but she's been shooting weddings in North Carolina and does excellent work! Her prices are lower than other similarly talented photographers until she builds her name up in NOLA. (www.photosbysabree.com

I haven't really looked at makeup, flowers, or transportation yet.

Well, I am glad I found this post because I was going to ask the same question!

Church: St. Theresa of Avila.  It's small, but ornate like all the larger churches and is not very well known.  It was a great find!

Officiant:  Fr. Bob Massett.  I love him, he's a wonderful pastor.

    Reception:  Chateau Estates Country Club

    Cake:  Haydel's

Transportation:  V.I.P. they have great prices.
