show me your wedding day clutch!

Hello!

I keep putting off finding a clutch for the big day. At first I thought I wouldn't even use one, but I know I will want to keep my lipstick and some oil blotting sheets handy, and don't want to ask my MOH to carry it for me. What are you ladies using? I feel like all the ones I find don't really go with my dress and overall look for the big day (my dress is all-over lace and I'm wearing the crochet Toms, and it's a rustic barn wedding).

I may try and see about a custom one on Etsy, but I was hoping to not spend too much, since I'm likely to not use it again.

Any thoughts? What are you using? Inspire me, ladies!

My cousin is sewing together some of my grandpa's old handkerchiefs with one of grandma's (or maybe it's great grandma) for a pocket. This is the grandpa whose death anniversary I was upset about a couple weeks ago. Apparently he had a lot of handkerchiefs. She showed me one and asked what my wedding colors were so she could make me one. I'm so touched and it'll be a comfort knowing that at least in that way, grandpa will be with me.

Do you have a pic of your shoes? I'm totally slacking on finding a pair! I've got to get it this weekend! That's totally my plan! I just don't know what shoes will go good with my all lace dress as well.

Oh and sorry I don't have a clutch yet. I've been also wondering what will go good with my all lace dress as well.

Here is mine. It's not really a clutch. I am not even sure if I am going to use it. I got it on Black Friday. I spent 3 hours waiting in line at the Coach outlet store for it.

This is a great idea! Do you have a picture of your dress? Mine wedding/reception is in a barn and I'm wanting shoes very similar to this. My dream shoes would be pale yellow or mustard colored peep toed flats, but apparently this is too much to ask from the shoe manufacturers of the world.

I don't have a pic handy, but I got mine off of eBay. It is used but goes really well with my dress (top is lace). The purse is beaded all over, ivory and has a vintage look to it. It was very inexpensive (like $10).

It's definitely not for everyone, and I've gotten some, "No, really, what wedding shoes are you wearing? Stop joking" from some people, ha! But I've also gotten people who immediately say, "That's so you!", which is true. The second I found them, I knew I had to go with it.

They make these in pale yellow and I am DYING for a pair for my wedding dress, but I'm terrified it will look funny. Have you tried yours on with your dress yet? How did it look?

I have, but funny enough, my dress is still SUPER long (I'm pretty short), so it's been kind of hard to judge it, admittedly. I'm planning on keeping it so that you can just barely, if at all, see the shoes when I'm standing. They'll be more like a fun surprise.

Your dress is STUNNING. I didn't try it on and wish I had, because it's one of my big Dress Regret options.

Thanks! I just KNEW it was the one when I tried it on. It was my first ever appointment, and the third one I put on.

But back to your original question, I think I'm just going to use a clutch that I already own (it doesn't even really match heh) and have a trusted friend/family member place it in my chair at the reception location. Our ceremony is out in a field, and the reception is taking place in the barn just a few yards away, so it will work for me. No one will even see it, and since I am on a budget, I just figured it was one of the unnecessary items. But I'm not also much of a purse girl anyway.

Yeah, I may do just that. Or keep stalking Forever 21's website and hoping they put up something that works, ha. I got a lavendar one from there a while back that fits the overall look PERFECTLY, except for the color. Oh well.

<div>The clutch my cousin showed me looked kind of like an envelope with a small pocket on the inside. Grandpa's handkerchief made up the flap and body of the clutch and she used a different material for the sides. I'm sure you could find a pattern in one of the sewing books at Joann's or Michael's.</div>

OMG, I've been putting off buying those toms for my wedding shoes as well. I so want them, but I was afraid they might look a little to casual for my dress.

I pinned this clutch from etsy the other day and thought it was lovely. Do you have burlap in your wedding? Maybe it would work. LINK

Yes! If anything, I find the crochet has a little more give, based on the open-ness of it. But if you find them to be stretching out slowly, wear them around the house with socks. That'll help!
