DJs in Richmond/Charlottesville Area

Hello-

I wanted to see if anyone has worked with or booked a DJ in the Richmond or Charlottesville area?  I am getting married in Louisa, VA in October and was hoping to get a feel for recommended DJs at a reasonable price.  I was originally thinking the dinner and reception would be about 6 hours.

On average what have you spent for a DJ?

    We're getting married Oct 29 in Charlottesville and just booked our DJ last month, and I'm SO SO excited about him.
    His name is Derek Tobler, and I  talked to several of his references who all RAVED about him. We've also gotten rave reviews on him from our caterer (20 South) who likes him so much, they'll feed him for free!

    Obviously haven't heard him yet, but he seems great and well worth the investment!

    Price-wise, he requires a $200 deposit to hold the date. We were able to book him at his 2010 rates, but I'm not sure if they've changed:
    Total cost is $1000 for 4 hours, $200 of each additional hour. $250 for use of his sound system for the ceremony, and $50 if we wanted to add lighting to the dance floor.

    He's very organized and experienced (has a backup sound system incase his computer dies mid-song, has wifi access so he can get any song you request at the spur of the moment that he doesn't already have, etc).
    I'm pretty excited about him! I know it's expensive, but we NEED to have people on the dance floor, so a great DJ is really important to us!
