I am looking for a venue in Brooklyn or Queens, but im leaning more toward Brooklyn for my wedding. Has anyone done there wedding or attending a wedding at The Foundry or The Tobacco Warehouse, if so can I get some recommendations. :D likes and dislikes.

The Foundry is just grand and now they have a separate area just for the ceremony.  and depending on the time of year you can also use the courtyard.  The pricing is a bit high, but if your budget allow its a great place.

another place nearby the Foundry, where I went to an engagement party is the Ravel Hotel, Penthouse 808.  the view is amazing.  Better than the Foundry.  The space is smaller but again depends on the size and the time of year.  It can have a open rooftop or enclosed in glass.  Totally NY.  Love it.

The Water's Edge also offers a great view of the city from queens.

From Brooklyn, the best bang for your buck is Giando's on the Water.  Great view, great Italian food.

I got married at Stage 6 at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn; it was awesome, unique, elegant and modern.  I looked at the Foundry as well, while beautiful, the venue fee was pretty steep.

the foundry is great but can add up price wise.

    Rebar
    My Moon
    Dumbo Loft

are all really great options as well

Omg...did you enjoy the Penthouse 808...I am planing to my wedding there....Did you like the food.
  • Hey ladies, We are just starting our planning and quickly realizing the most problematic aspect of our event will be the guest list- so many live out of town that the usual averages don't add up for our headcount.  So how to find a venue that would accommodate either 100 or 150, and a a caterer that could flex wih that change in size but maintain our budget as well?  Any recommendations would be appreciated.  We're in love with the industrial feel of the Green Building and the Foundry, but need something with a lower price point. We live in Brooklyn, but are aware that these gems in the rough might be outside our usual treks.
    Thank you!
