First off, happy holidays everyone! =D =D =D I hope you are all doing fabulously awesome!
That said.. I graduated last week! With honors to boot! See? I have a hat and everything!

(This is a big deal to me, since I'm not actually 100% sure that I did, in fact, graduate high school... long story! Also, I'm apparently not good at "myspace" shots, as I cut off my man's head.. oops!)
So, I guess I need a new ticker.. and I'm in luck, because my newly minted FI proposed to me last night!
(*SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEE!*)
Ring Pr0n:

It's only supposed to be "temporary" because FI wants to design a ring in detail and at a leisurely pace with me later on, but I don't know... I kind of, really, really adore this ring. It's an antique (his geologist mom thinks it was crafted in the 30's) from the Consignment Charity Shop where he volunteers and came from a super rich family that he knows personally.. so.. maybe we'll just design a wedding ring to go around it. Eeee!
Anyway, that's my story. ^_^ We're going to get the interwebz soon at our house, so I'll actually be able to post more instead of being a ghost.
I hope you all are well! Enjoy the holidays.
Here's the big question: Which were you more excited about =P ???
Er... I'm going to judge this based on my ability to go to sleep the following night. After graduation, I fell into a relief-induced coma and slept like the dead. After FI's proposal, I stayed up awake with that "OMG I'm 6 years old and it's CHRISTMAS tomorrow!" feeling until two in the morning--and this was AFTER I'd decided to make it an early night (I'd tried to go to bed at eight thirty.. ha).
I can always go to school and earn more degrees.. it's not every day that the love of your life asks you to be his wife! =D
I love your ring, you should keep it even if he gives you a new one!

I love the story behind your ring. Even if you decide to get a new engagement ring, you could wear that one on your other hand as an everyday ring. (I have one ring on each hand, at all times.)
Oh, absolutely! I ADORE this ring.. I think if we decide to craft a new one, I'll wear it on my other hand like you suggested, yaga. Then when I have a daughter, I'll give it to her when she's really, truly earned a token of extreme affection. =D But, that's putting the cart before the horse JUST a little.. ;-)
Story time!
We'd spent the night at his parents' house, having dinner and decorating his mother's Christmas tree. It just felt really special--the right amount of wine, lots of laughter, all that jazz. We drove home passed all kinds of dazzling light displays and the ground was covered in snow, so.. there was definite holiday chemistry! When we got home, the mood was still very intimate--it seemed like the perfect evening, and I told him so.
I have a tendency to ramble whenever I feel exceptionally emotional, so I started telling him that he makes me the happiest person in the world, that I feel extremely blessed to have him in my life, that I adore him... it's important to tell the people you love that you love them as often as possible--they might forget!
I started to get sleepy, so I made some tea, gave him a kiss and headed up stairs. It's hard to describe the mood.. When I was younger, I used to take really long showers until I felt perfectly clean, crawl under the covers, and just revel in the loveliness of the evening. It was like that. FI came upstairs after a few minutes to get packed for the holidays (we're staying with his parents for the time being, which is why I have internet!) and asked me to get up and help him with something.
As I sat up in bed, he asked me if it was "true that I make you the happiest person in the world?" I told him earnestly, "Yes, absolutely." Then he knelt down, presented a red velvet box, and asked, "Then... would you return the favor?"
He's lucky he didn't get hurt, because I tackled him. =) No idea how long I held him, laughing and kissing him.. but eventually, we let go long enough for him to slide the ring on my finger.
I could NOT have been more surprised. There wasn't even a shadow of a thought in my head that he might propose then.
He'd meant to wait until I finished moving in, then give it to me when we'd moved the last box, but for a variety of reasons, it became obvious that there wouldn't be a giant, symbolic "moving day," so he decided against it. Then, he was going to get dressed up in a suit randomly and ask me, but the mood didn't suit that night. Essentially, he decided on a whim that he couldn't wait any longer to ask me!
Wow, that's a lot longer than I intended.. Oh well. Thank you all so much for your well-wishes! =)

Oh and on graduating too!!
