Gift card gift?

I have a lot of time to think about this, but was just wondering what everyone thinks of gift cards for wedding party gift. I've been thinking of getting my sisters (just the 2 are my bm) sephora GC, maybe in a little makeup bag or something? Is it more polite (personable) to just get a gift?

So realize its regional and budget based, but what is one supposed to spend? Is it in relation to what they spend on your wedding??

    If you think they'll enjoy Sephora, than go for it. I'd get a giftcard and maybe a trial of something.

    There is no 'supposed' to spend. Spend what you can afford. This shouldn't in any way be in relation to what they spent on your wedding. (Mostly because you should ask them their dress budget prior to shopping)

    Your budget is up to you...I plan on spending about $40 per girl and a little more on my MOH, maybe $50.  I think a GC is fine if it's to a place that they would love.  If you include it in something like a makeup bag for a Sephora gift card, that's great...

    I did gift cards for mine.  They all got $15 gift cards.

    And it wasn't related to what they spent on the wedding because they really didn't spend anything!  The dresses were sewn by my mom from material bought by me.  They wore shoes and jewelry they already had and did their hair and makeup themselves.  Two of the BMs were my younger sisters still living at home so my parents bought their tickets and provided their transportation around town.  My MOH (also my sister) drove to the location and then bought a ticket from that location to our hometown for Christmas (if the wedding hadn't taken place, she would have bought a ticket from the city we both live in to our hometown with a layover in the city of our wedding so she actually would have spent more if the wedding hadn't taken place!)
