Confused!

Help! I got engaged in September, but I am having a hard time picking a date. The preferred time of the year would be summer since I am graduating in May and will hopefully be working in the school system come August. However, that only gives us a few months of planning along with the stress of finishing up my masters. Also, summers are brutally hot in Orlando, so it would take away the option of anything happening outdoors (including missing out on some great photos).

Our other option is December since I was really hoping to get married on 12-12-12. If we went this route, we would be able to technically get married on that day and have the formal ceremony and reception that Saturday. It would give us more time to plan, but as a new person in the school system I most likely will not be able to take any time off, so the weekend of the wedding could feel super rushed. Also, many of our attendees are coming from out of town. Since it is so close to Christmas it may be hard for the people we really want to be there to come because of finances and such.

Does anyone have any thoughts, experiences, or suggestions?

I don't really understand the novelty of picking a date like 12-12-12 but to each their own.  I had the opportunity to have Dec. 3 and didn't because I didn't want to be anywhere near Christmas for my traveling guests.  We got married Nov. 5th and it was AMAZING.  I would do October or November if I were you.  Summer is hot as hell.  Just my 2 cents...

    Congratulations on your engagement!

Our first date was September 22nd I beleive, but then we changed our date since we are having an outdoor wedding and September is love bug season. So now our date is October 28th. Nice outside and no bugs! God willing! I agree with PP. I would go with October or November. You could do the weekend after thanksgiving. You will have that week off since school will be out. I am a teacher and we had a March wedding, because Spring break came right after. It was a good choice for us, the weather was BEAUTIFUL! :)
