Great Bar For Engagement Drinks w/Friends?!?!

Hi Ladies!
My fiance and I are looking to host our NYC friends for engagment drinks.  Probably 20-30 people.  We're looking for a bar where we can rent a small room and supply the drinks and basic munchies for everyone.  $500-$1000 (but the lower the better)

We've already sent out the FB invite, but can't seem to find a great place for Sat, Nov 19th.  I'm looking for a cozy lounge like vibe....candles, or exposed brick wall, or nice view, or some sort of charm/personality,  standing only is fine....maybe LES or Village or even Meatpacking? 

I also can't seem to figure out the best deal?!  Pay per head, or guarantee a minimum or rent a space and bring in alcohol....it's hard to compare when you're not comparing apples to apples, and the HC isn't finalized....

Any cute private rooms in bars that you could suggest would be greatly appreciated!!!  THANK YOU!!!! : )  Happy planning to all!  Smile

    Try AVA lounge, or Rm Fifty 5 or Inc Lounge. They are all part of Loungebars NYC, but they have a loft-style loungey vibe to it. I would rent the room and bring in the alcohol if the venue allows. This will probably save you money in the long run! Good luck with everything

    Bar 13 is really nice, and they have a rooftop bar with lounge furntiture. It's huge also, there is like 3 different floors, and there's tons of dancing!

    I'm always going to recommend PS450 or Volstead! The food is great (Dominique is the best with his poppers creation) and my brother-in-law built them :-). He also built the Common Ground on the lower east side. Best of luck!
