i'm a MOH and need speech help!

my best friend is getting married this weekend and i need help with writing the speech. they are having open mic time and i don't know if that means i can have a more casual speech or if it should be a normal speech toast for the bride and groom?? she's super casual and it's a country style outdoor wedding (we are wearing cowboy boots and the groom is in dark jeans!) i was thinking of telling a couple cute stories and then just some nice things like i'm so happy for you two and you are a lucky guy for marrying her!
any other suggestions??
TIA!

general guidelines for MOH/BM speech giving:
    - keep it brief (5 min max)
    - not too many inside jokes; if you do use one try to give sufficient background that everyone understands it
    - one, maybe two "remember when"s  more than that will just bore the guests, and it's hard to make more than one flow anyway
    - DON'T use lines you find on the internet, people can tell.

My MOH's speech was fantastic :-)  She basically started with with an "I knew we'd be best friends when...." story; then transitioned into "the first time I met the groom" and ended with "I know you two will be so happy together".  It's a pretty typical outline, you just have to make it yours!

ditto Kate - especially the 'keep it brief' part.

I went to a wedding where the moh, bm, several bms and gms, the bride's uncle, the groom's cousin all gave speeches before dinner. The speeches and toasts were loaded with inside jokes, which only the wedding party understood. It was excruciating to sit through that.

I think that your idea sounds great. People love humorous or touching stories from people's pasts. You could talk about when you met, why she is so spcial to you, and how you could tell that they were right for one another. It might help to just do a free write about your friend, and then about them as a couple. See what you end up with-- I bet it will bring out something really good.
