Pre Cana Length

My archdiocese's website indicates three sessions, three hours in length each.

When my registration information arrived, the times for each session are listed as being six hours.

Any guesses on which is correct?  I plan to call for clarification.

We did two 6-hour days (over a weekend), so I think that's the same program I did. we really liked the format!

ETA: Our program was not EE and didn't include completing a FOCCUS test. We spoke very briefly about NFP, but moreso about the idea of it, and not into the details.

We are required to do an all day event, from 7:30a-5:30p.m. This is when we take our FOCCUS test and learn about Natural Family Planning. Then we have our engaged encounter which is from 7:00p.m.Friday to 5:00p.m. Sunday.

    It really does vary.
We did the EE from 7pm on Friday until 2pm on Sunday.  We also spend a couple hours filling out forms and doing the FOCCUS on a random day soon after we set the date with the church.

In Colorado, I did four 3-hour sessions on every Sunday for a month following mass, and then I had three 2-hour sessions for NFP classes once a month for three months on Tuesdays.  Then I had to take the FOCCUS review and meet with the Deacon several times, and then go over the FOCCUS review.

I'm getting married in Ohio, and the priest there said they only require one 5-hour session, and no NFP.

    So it definitely varies...

We did the EE weekend and then met with the priest several times and took the FOCCUS test. It does vary, so just make sure you ask the priest what all you are required to do.

We had one all day session that totaled 6 hours for our pre-cana.  It did not include FOCCUS, though; we had 2 (maybe 3?) additional, 1-2hr sessions with our priest to deal with that and some more mundane logistical details.
