Getting in Shape

I will/ In order to...

I think we should make our selves a little more accountable. Decare what you are planning to do in order to acheive a small goal, so that we can all follow up with eachother later.

I will start to incorporate running intervals (for longer periods as I go) into my workout ontop of the cardio I already do, in order to try to increase my loss and get myself ready to start running outside next spring!

Now you go.

Re: I will/ In order to...

  • I will focus on cross training in order to keep myself healthy and prevent injury.  I am going to start incorportating swimming into my cardio routine, instead of all running.

I am connected back with my gym partner know that she helps with my accountability.  When I send an email saying I wil be at the gym on Tuesday, I will be there because someone else is relying on me!
  • I will stop avoiding the scale in order to accurately determine where I am and how much I may or may not have slipped up in the past month.

I will also try and pick up the intensity of my workouts in order to increase my stamina and endurance.  I've been doing just enough to get by.

I will log back onto SP to continue tracking my progress.

I will also continue to write.  Someone said something that bummed me out a couple of weeks ago and I haven't written since.
  • In Feb, a friend of mine is going to start training for a triathalon.  I'm not that crazy (yet), but I would like to start swimming with her.  My goal is to try a swim workout twice a month starting in Feb, and you know, NOT drown.

A goal for this month is to workout at least 3 days during the week of the 14th.  I'm at a conference, and I know it will be hectic.  But I want to try to squeeze in some time for me.

  • I will track everything I put in my mouth on TDP for the next week.

I will NOT tell myself that slipping up on the weekend is fine.

I will stop by the gym today to find out about membership costs.

I will remember to weigh myself tomorrow morning.  And if the number I see is not what I expect (in a bad way) I will NOT let it ruin my day.

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

  • I will continue to Crossfit in order to gain strength and my old self back. I will not make silly excuses about my diet and will make better choices at least 5 out of 7 days.

I will not get on the scale until the end of March. I will push myself and stop being lazy and scared in order to be my best.

I will try to journal this month.

  • I will increase the intensity of my workouts so that my heart gets pumping sooner, and I will NOT give into being tired after a few minutes at the new intensity level, so that I can start achieving my weight loss goals.  I will not give up, no matter how long this plateau lasts.  I'm going to start logging into spark again so I can track all my goals and progress - including water intake.

  • I will eat well on weekends which means not eating out every meal and making sure I cook at home so I get used to not cheating all weekend long.  I will workout at least 5 times per week while trying to get back up to the endurance I used to have.  I will cook at home at least 6 nights each week so that I make sure I'm eating good, healthy food.  I will track every single thing I eat, even if I know I've gone over my points.  I will actually use the weekend accountability threads on here so that I pay more attention to what I'm putting in mymouth!
  • I will start to increase my workout routines so that I can build up my lungs and muscles. This means increased cardio using bicycling, elliptical and treadmill if I am having a hard time on the elliptical. I want to push myself more to last longer on the elliptical.
I will start to watch what I am eating more closely on weekend than I have been. No more excuses I gotta learn when enough is enough!

  • I will not eat junk food after work.  Right when I get home, before I go to the gym is my biggest problem time.  I will take the dog out, eat a piece of fruit or 1 serving of crackers if I am really hungry, and then go to the gym.  Not only will cutting out the extra junk food help me lose lbs, but it will also make my stomach feel better and my workout go more smoothly.
  • I will stick to the six week workout plan I started last week in order to make myself get back into a routine.  I will also go back to running moderate distances, to help with my sanity and stress level.
  • I will do the 30DS at least 3x a week, regardless of who is home (I only do it when I'm home alone, which has not worked out very well lately :-P) in order to become more toned and have a set workout.
  • I will try harder to workout at least three times a week.

I will stop snacking just because I'm bored.

I will get more sleep, so I have more energy, so I feel better and will be more motivated to exercise.

  • I will continue to do 30 DS at least 5 times a week.  I will go back to do 1 hr a cardio a day instead of whimping out at 30 minutes.  I will work out on Sundays no matter how tired or lazy I feel.  I will do this in order to be a fitter healthier me and to be able to fit into my dress and breathe at the same time.
  • Nice, OFF, I like the "fit into my dress and breathe at the same time" I know exactly how you feel :)

  • Ahem, this one really made me cringe... I hate the state of mind where you know you should decide something but you haven't quite mustered the courage yet. So you're in limbo. Lol.

I need to take a walk outside to get some fresh air - each day.

I need to plan my meals better again, especially since christmas is coming up and fast. Need to have a routine by then.

I need to sleep at regular times and many enough hours as well. The darkness is getting to me.

Which takes me to next one; use my light therapy lamp every day up until when I go home for christmas.

And finally, I need to go back to drinking 1.5 liters of water each day.

  • I WILL remember to take Motrin before working out my shoulders again IN ORDER TO not be a huge lame-o the next day.

    Ugh.
  • I will go the 3 classes a week at the gym and go for a run at least once a week.

    I will drop 3lb by christmas (1lb a week)
