Old Testament Recommendations?

Hello! I was wondering if anyone could direct me to some resources (or share their own ideas) for Old Testament readings? Fiance and I had a easier time picking out  New Testament and Gospel readings, but we are stumped on finding a appropriate one from the Old Testament. Thanks in advance!

We are considering:

From the New Testament:
First letter to the Corinthians (12:31-13:8a)

From the Gospel:
Matthew 5:13-16
Matthew 7:21, 24-29
or John 2:1-11

We were given the "Only Love Can Make it Easy" book. But none of the readings in there really "speak" to us.

I always give a shout-out to the reading we used for our first reading because it's beautiful but pretty under-utilized.  I don't know if it's one of the ones you considered already, but it fits with the love theme of your second reading.

ok, I suspect it's the same, cuz they are probably using the ones that are found in the roman missal? (I should know this...)
    like inclding Genesis 1:26-28,  Genesis 2:18-24, Genesis 24:48-51 + 58-67, Tobit 7:6-14, Tobit 8:4b-8
    etc?

I love the Song of Songs reading, but I couldn't convince H.

    We went with Ruth 1:16-17.

Oot, before you call me out, I know that the context of a daughter-in-law and her love of the mother-in-law.  But the wording is beautiful, and I love the idea of two families merging.

    Docta: I love that verse!

Fi and I are going with Tobit 8:4b-8.  We feel Tobit is very much underappreciated and due for some love.  Also, that prayer is beautiful.

Docta's and zelis's were on my list of top 3.

We ended up using Genesis 2:18-24, but I love the Song of Songs and Tobit versus just as much.

I had Corinthians 13 for New Testament also.

Here's some of the suggestions that my parish gave us... many of which are probably repeats of the above recommendations!  We chose Tobit 8:4B-8:

    G
    ENESIS 1:26-28, 31
    GENESIS 2:18-24
    GENESIS 24:48-51, 58-67
    TOBIT 7:9-10, 11-15
    TOBIT 8:4B-8
    PROVERBS 31:10-13, 19-20, 30-31
    SONG OF SONGS 2:8-10, 14, 16; 8:6-7
    SIRACH 26:1-4, 13-16
    JEREMIAH 31:31-32, 33-34

I think we found the one in case anyone is interested:

    Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

    Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
    But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
    Though one may be overpowered,
       two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Oh, TBee!  I really like that!  Ecclesiastes is such a great book, (although reading it always gets "Turn! Turn! Turn!" stuck in my head).
