Gifts for Ushers and Parents

I am in need of good gift ideas for ushers, readers, musicians, and most importantly our parents. What have past brides done? What are future brides doing? What is the appropriate amount to spend on each?

Re: Gifts for Ushers and Parents

  • We got the groomsmen and ushers engraved pewter beer mugs, except the two that were under 18, we got them ITunes gift cards (their mother would have lost it if we got them a beer mug).

We didn't get my parent's anything and we gave the groomsmen/ushers  little gift basket including alcohol, socks and nerf guns. They were suppose to use them for photos the wedding day, but they opened them at the rehersal and had a blast with them.

Got the mom's embroidered hankies (special picture books for after the wedding), groomsmen monogrammed multi-tools (it's a guy thing my hubby thought of). We didn't get anything for the readers or ushers.

At a previous wedding my husband got a monogramed flask.

We just tipped our ceremony musicians.

No gifts for ushers, just boutineers.  They were just family members and didn't have to rent tuxes or anything, I just told them to wear a nice suit.

I made photo albums of our wedding pictures for our parents as gifts.  At the RD, gave the moms/grandmothers embroidered handkerchiefs, and the fathers monogrammed pocket squares (PIB).

DH did not believe me when I told him he was supposed to get his groomsmen gifts.  But since we paid for their tuxes, I didn't push it.
  • I do not have ushers and my fiancee is still debating what to get his groommens.  But so far I have gotten the moms city flats to wear at the reception and I also wanted to get the monogramed hankerchief.  I am still looking for robes for both of the moms and want to put MOB and MOG on each.  I also think its cool and may get them each the MOB and MOG hangers.  Now for the fathers I wanted to get my dad these cufflinks that say I loved her first.
  • We got both of my parents (divorced) a photo album of the wedding from our photographer after the wedding.   His parents, we didn't do anything.

That said, both of the moms got embroidered hankies.

Groomsmen each got a bottle of their favorite alcohol and a really nice knife.
Bridesmaids got a scarf they could wear that night since our wedding was fall and outside, a pair of Yellowbox flip flops to change into, and a Coach wristlet.
