Wedding Channel Deals (anyone have any experience with these?)

So this morning I got an email for a deal through weddingchannel.com, (i think ive been getting them for a while but i just never pay attention). anyway, the deal is for $200 off the photobooth company i was planning on using. I am just not sure how this works. Do i purchase the deal and then have to go book with the company and say i have such and such coupon? Or does it do all that for me? I guess i'm just nervous there might be some hidden catches or something.

also, i wanted to do some more research before i went ahead and booked this. i'm nervous to just sign a contract and be done with it without more knowledge. after my preliminary research, this company was the one i thought had the best deal for everything we wanted, but there's so many photobooth companies out there that i'm not 100% sure this is the best one.
Happily married since 9/1/2012!

  • call the company first. make sure they have your date available.  ask them if there are any hidden catches.... like some I have seen are only valid m-thurs.
I think its safe to do as long as you call them and ask them all your questions first.

<div>Ditto this and do it asap! I saw a deal like this for my area awhile back, but the find print stated that you were responsible for checking dates before buying and all that. The company paid them to run that ad, so I would just call and ask them. Also ask them any "interview" questions while you're at it. If they really want your business, they won't mind. Also ask about any extra fees like travel, set up, break down, etc.</div>
  • I would like to hear an update on all this. I keep getting those emails too and a lot are very enticing. Especially the honeymoon ones!
  • I actualy just purchased a wedding channel deal for all my bridesmaid gifts.  I am getting them hand painted wine glasses with their bridesmaid dresses/names via a wedding channel dea for an etsy vendor.

First, I contacted the etsy vendor to make sure I had the right person/checked out the store.  I discussed what and when I wanted my product with her and confirmed the price.  Then I purchased the deal.  Once you purchase the deal you get a confirmation e-mail with a transaction ID number and a note that reads "you can find your confirmation by logging into your WeddingChannel.com Deals from The Knot account and viewing your WeddingChannel Deals order history.  For questions specifically concerning your coupon code, you can contact us at deals@weddingchannel.com".  You get a second e-mail when the "deal is done" and your credit card/paypal is charged.

The etsy vendor said once I finialize my bridesmaid dress choice to message her and then she will begin work on them.  The whole process seems pretty legit.  I'm still keeping all of the e-mails for my records though so I can dispute the charge with the credit card company if it doesn't work out.
