Affordable Venue in Maryland???

I'm having the hardest time looking for a venue. I already have my dress and everything else figured out. The question is where I am i going to have my ceremony and reception on a tight budget? I live in anne arundel county, id like to find something close..avoiding baltimore! Somewhere in Annapolis or around the Annapolis area. It would be great if there was a venue out there in the area that can work with a $6,000 - $7,000 budget. Our goal is to find something where we can have a ceremony by the water.

Try the Baltimore board or DC board.  The Maryland board doesn't get much traffic but the Baltimore board has some Annapolis area brides, I believe.

Ditto PP, many of the girls on the Baltimore board had/have venues outside of the city.

Kurtz's Beach is on the Chesapeake Bay in Pasadena, and some of their catering prices are really reasonable.  Here is a link:

What about Overhills Mansion? It's in Catonsville.

I believe they have a website too.

I don't know about the last one, but the first two are not in her budget.

Quiet Waters park has a gazeebo overlooking water (75 max though) and you could do a reception at the blue Heron room (http://www.aacounty.org/RecParks/parks/quietwaters/blue_heron.cfm) but you'd be in charge of cleaning up before/after and arranging catering, but it is affordable.

    South River Overlook

South River Overlook available for wedding ceremony only. Rental of the South River Overlook is $180.00 for 2 hours maximum. Park entry fees included. Maximum 75 people. No food or beverages allowed. For information call park office at (410) 222-1777.

Also you could do a ceremony on a pier in Annapolis and then have dinner at a restaurant somewhere downtown, which fagain is only an affordable option for less than 100 guests.

    Good luck!

I know this is a bit in a different direction, but it's still in Maryland.. in Allegany County. I'm not sure what type of "water" you were decided on, if it had to be the bay or not, but Rocky Gap Lodge and Resort in Flintstone, Maryland sits on a lake and golfcourse. I believe last I checked, it was around 8000 to have one there. Here is there website:

Rocky Gap is really beautiful, I agree.  I took the OP to mean that she wanted to spend  $6-7k total, though, so the venue would have to be a bit less than that to fit in flowers, dress, photographer, etc.

Although I agree with the PP who said we need to know how many people, etc...I just don't think the OP is ever coming back.
