Conditioning

I am growing my hair out and the wedding is in 39 days!! I would like to try an at home deep conditioning treatment..any suggestions for brands and effectiveness??

Re: Conditioning

  • I really like the Redken Extreme line. My hair dresser reccomends it and Extreme Deep Fuel works great. The Extreme line is for distressed/colored hair though and I'm not sure what the condition of your hair is. The Redken All Soft line has a deep conditioner that works good too called Heavy Cream, its for dry hair.
  • Go to an Aveda salon and get a deep conditioning treatment.  There are different ones depending on what your hair needs, moisture or strength and moisture.  It'd put in your hair and your hair is wrapped in a warm towel and you are placed under a dryer to really let it absorb into your hair.  You're shampooed and conditioned and walk out with a complimentary blowdry/style.
If you're going the at home route, the Rusk Deep Shine Oil Treatment is great.
I'd use that after you shampoo, towel dry your hair, and wrap your hair in a slightly moist towel and then use your blowdryer to apply heat to it for 25-30 min. Don't hold it in just one spot move it around your head.  Seems crazy to hold it that long.  A good idea would be maybe if you had a friend or even BM who wanted to do it as well come over some night and you could both do them. There will be enough product for you to both use it, multiple times.  Then you can take turns holding the blow dryer and she can hold it for you, you can hold it for her.

    Good luck!
