Cake for the Groom & FireFighter Idea's for Reception

Hi!

I am getting married on 12/3 at The Colonnade in Boston. We are doing a holiday themed wedding but I also would like to suprise my future hubby with something related to what is a big part of our lives his job as a firefighter.

Can anyone recommend a bakery that can make a cake that would look like a firefighter helmet or any firefighter idea's that I can incorporate.

    The bakery I am working with (Cakes to Remember) does sculpted cakes.

    Party Favors in Brookline does themed cake as well.

    My fiance and I are both in the Navy and we're going to have a patriotic groom's cake.  When we cut it, we're going to invite everyone who is currently serving in the military and all vets up with us, and we're going to toast them.

    You could do something like that but instead invite up all the firefighters, policement, even nurses.  This would be special if a lot of his friends at the wedding are firefighters too, it would be a good way to say "thanks for all you do".

    My cousin did this at her wedding, and I thought it was such a good idea that I stole it for mine!

    OMFG! Check out The Mixing Bowl in Haverhill MA, her bname is Caitrin, and her husband is a firefighter.  she does all their weddings, functions, etc....and has done amazing fire themed cakes!   978-373-9798

    Try Lyndell's in Somerville or the North End. We had a firefighter cake for my nephew's birthday last summer and it was awesome!
