Fun Date Night Ideas?

Hi Ladies!

So I'm trying to plan a fun date day/night for FI and I for this weekend, but don't want the standard dinner and a movie thing.

We're usually up for trying anything new (just not too expensive!). Any fun suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)  Thanks!!

What area of town? Do you belong to Living Social or Groupon or any of those sweet deal sites? I get like 8-10 emails a day with fun ideas! When H and I first started dating, I'd buy a couple of the deals each week and we'd get to try new places while staying on a budget.

If not, what about: comedy club, Chatterbox, Patina (super cool gift shop where we spend hours just looking around), winery, bowling, cooking class... Or I've heard of people doing progressive dinners, where you do drinks at one place, apps at another, and so on.

PS: I love your movie quote!

What about the shops of downtown Stillwater? They have some interesting stores? I 2nd the cooking class idea. Or how about trying to make an ethnic dinner together?

sporty - wild game or a U game of bball prolly, indoor batting cages, chatterbox for game night
artsy - galleries, museums, check coffee shop concerts
home - spa night, an extense home work out w/ yoga-cardio-weights-etc
foodie - cooking class, try a new ethnic restaurant
random - thrift shopping, comedy show (comedy sportz is our favs, but i hear moa has one too), volunteer work (local church, open arms), house tour (check MIA's), dance classes

I like to keep a list on my BB for when we get stumped.  Then there's always Msp Mag and Minnesota Monthly with an events calendar.

Ooh I love the cooking class idea! I always see them being advertised in Calhoun Square.  And I should really start paying attention to the different places in my Living Social and Groupon emails.

Also, I love the batting cage idea! We love sporty stuff, but usually just fall back on bowling, tennis, and mini golf.

    Thanks again ladies!

If you like singing/making a fool of yourself, Stella's Fish Cafe in Uptown has Kareokee where you can sing on the oldie's radio station. I think its Friday nights, you should check it out...its so funny!
