Venue is booked!! Now its photog time!

So after shopping around a bit, we booked The Edison Ballroom for our wedding!  I guess our next step is to go ahead and find a photographer.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I looked through photographer selection and it is a bit overwhelming..  Here are a few that stood out to me.  Has anyone interviewed or booked any of these?

AJH Photography :  http://ajhweddings.com/
David Linder :  http://davidlindner.com/site/
Julian Ribinik:  http://www.julianribinikweddings.com/

Congrats on your venue! The Edison Ballroom is so beautiful.

I have heard good things about AJH Photography, so if I were you I would set up an interview with them.

As a suggestion, we used beIMAGED Photography, http://www.beimaged.com because we wanted to have a photographer who we felt really comfortable with and she was amazing.

Seems like you have a good list, so for the ones whos work you really like, set up a meeting because personality is key. Good luck with your planning!

Try Lev Kuperman! He is doing our wedding...I LOVE him.
He took our engagement pics at The Met...check it out under "Margaret and Jon" under Love & Marriage on his site www.levkuperman.com
Our family & friends have been raving about these photos.

He is also INCREDIBLY reasonably priced.

Julian Ribinik does totally amazing job!

Great personality, very flexible, and most important he made us very comfortable on that important day and images are the work of art. We had real LOW light conditions at the church, and images look like it was daylight. We hired him for maternity and newborn sessions as well.

    TOTALLY recommended!

I live in NYC and am having my wedding in FL. My photographer is amazing- the pic in my sig is from our e-shoot. She has a few more on her blog. My photog is based in FL but travels anywhere worldwide. Even with the cost of her traveling, it would probably work out to less than the price of a good photog in the city. She is super creative and talented. Good luck!

Thanks for all the advice, ladies! I think that I am going to contact AJH and Julian Ribinik.  I am looking for a little more of an edgy style, so I think that AJH may be for me.  I already had my engagement photos taken in Vermont (where I'm from) so I will not be needing those.  That should save me a little $$$.

I am really excited about flourist hunting as well.  I set my budget a little high for that Smile

Good luck, it's sooo exciting :))) I checked AJH and they have a little too much fotoshop for my taste but certainly compare the two, I think Julian's style is more modern and New York City style which is what I was going for :)

Definitely Julian Ribinik Photography!  My wedding was photographed by them (I think we are even on their website) and we could have not wished for a better team.  Very professional, great communication, very prompt before the wedding and after.  We have received our proofs and the albums with no delay (I hear some photographers take a year to get you your pics..)  Good luck!

i have so many nice things to say about our choice for a wedding photography that i find that overwhelming...but, in a good way. me and several friends all hired the same photography couple and they hooked us up...BIG TIME!!!

we got money off, free e-shoots...you name it...they helped. they baked us cookies when we all went to meet them. several other friends all raved about working with them so we assumed by their word it was the right decision to make and they were RIGHT!!!

the name of the studio is Alexis Stein Photography and their work is at www.alexissteinphoto.com

i love their work...it is very candid, emotional, and photo-journalistic.

i hope you like their work, cause i know you will like them as people.

    best.

Congrats on having the venue booked!! That's such a determining factor in the whole wedding planning process. AND after that's done, it cuts all the questions people ask you by half. Totally awesome! I personally had Astami photograph my wedding but I totally loved AJH Photography's worked. So pretty!

You should definitely check out wendy g photography (Wendygphotography.com), she is a great photographer with a photojournalistic style. The company is also a smaller, more personal company which was really important to me.
