We live in Albuquerque, but love the area around Durango. I've found lots of beautiful outdoor sites, but my fiance keeps asking about waterfalls in the area. Does anyone know where there is a site with a waterfall?
Have you looked at Cascade Village? Just north of the ski resort? Or maybe call one of the raft companies/kayak shops in town, those guys know the waterfalls better than anyone else in town!
I grew up there, and the only one that I know of is toward Hermosa along the mountains in the valley. It's pretty big but surrounded by houses, so I don't know if it would work.
Cascade Falls. It's on the way towards Purgatory. I had a friend get married up there. It was beautiful. There was this little clearing with a rock in the middle of it. So they got married barefoot standing on the rock. Then after the wedding we all went down the cascades. Best wedding ever!
