Audubon Bride

Did you go to Methacton?  My parents live in Trooper and I went to Methacton.
We were married in Bryn Mawr at the church my parents were married and then had our reception at the Merion Cricket Club last year.

If you are getting married in the summer you may have more flexible pricing as it's a slower time.
I would check the hotel across from the Acme in KOP, I forget the name but a girl her was married there last year.
Also Normandy Farms does summer deals, Audubon House/ Sanctuary I forget what it's called, Westover CC.

Re: Audubon Bride

  • I did go to Methacton!  We're getting married at Saint Teresa's in Audubon/Trooper, and we're trying to keep the reception within a 20 minute drive of the church since my fiance's family will all be out of towners.

I'll have to look up the hotel in KOP. I believe my mom was going to get out to see Normandy Farms in the next couple of weeks.  We looked at Westover.  The outside was beautiful but the inside was very dated and it looked like they hadn't been keeping up with the building maintenance.

I'm taking a trip up to the area in a couple weeks for a family event and so far we are planning to see The Club at Shannondell (which is the most convenient as far as location).  Hopefully my mom will see some place she likes in the next couple of weeks and we'll stop in to see it too.
  • Sorry I haven't been back here in a few days.

I'm going to guess I'm a few years older than you, but I know people in younger years at Methacton including my brother, sister, and cousins.

I went to a wedding years ago at Westover, but I could totally see it being dated.

There was a girl a few years ago here who had her wedding at the Club at Shannondell.

My H is English and all of his guests stayed at the Homewoods Suites, they were amazing btw.  My ILs were there for a week and other guests were there for about 4-5 days.  I totally understand you wanting to keep things simple.

Also Homewood had shuttles and if they don't fit all your guests they can get taxis for really cheap.  We ended up getting mini van taxis for $30 from Bryn Mawr.  Which I thought was great!

I planned our wedding from London so I understand the long distance thing.
