DIY table runners?

Did anyone, has anyone, is anyone planning on making their own table runners? The rental company my venue works with wants to charge me something like $25 which I think is ridiculous (that may be a perfectly reasonable price, I just don't want to pay it). I have sewed some stuff in the past, and it doesn't seem that hard to make runners, but I wanted some opinions before I got started!

So...anyone? I'm going to check out the DIY board too...

    IWhat's your wedding colors? I have lots of runners left over from my daughter's wedding that you can have. They're a kelly green and white pattern.

    I made them all and they were very easy to make.

    I bought mine at www.tableclothworld.com, they were ridiculously cheap -- like $8 each. Worth the $ to me, since I think I'd have a hard time finding fabric that cheap, nor do I really want to make 18 of the things. :)

    They have a VAST selection of colors... in fact I ordered the swatch card (has little pieces of all the fabrics) and would be happy to send it along to anyone interested in buying from them.

    And if anyone needs 18 deep purple table runners sometime after Feb. 27, let me know! :)
