Hello everyone. I'm super happy that my long time bf and I are engaged. We will be together 4 yrs this May! Well, we've been feeling the pressure of people asking when were going to get married for the past year. I guess its not in the "norm" for a couple to be together for so long and not even talk about it. Now that were engaged we don't even know where to begin! His parents and my mother haven't even met yet!Whichll finally be this weekend yay! Were both on Social Security Income and Social Security Disibility income, so its not like our wedding can be expensive and save up for it like everyone else. : anyway, the real issues and questions: We have decided that were going to get married October 2013. Can't give a realistic budget only because we can't save up due to SSI/SSDI. Were going to try and get family and friends to chip in for some of the weddingwe really don't want that tho. Were thinking maybe 8K Were going to invite about 60 peoplethat includes kids and babies. Were looking for inexpensive places to hold the reception and catering. Catering needs to be experienced in food allergiesmushrooms, seafood and wheat/gluten and also vegetarianonly 2 of our guests are vegetarians. And if the reception site let's us decide on our own caterer and not choose from what they offer. Also an experienced baker for gluten free cakes/grooms cakes. Whether its outdoors or indoors doesn't matter to us as long as its wheelchair accessiblefor me and 2 guests. My fiance is also color blindnot a huge deal, just decided to bring that up. And last but not least. His family is out of state. I'd like to have ideas on how to make his family feel welcomed. We plan to have a mid day wedding on a saturday. I'd like to have ideas on maybe tourist spots for them or an after party? I just don't want to have the wedding and then that's it, you know? Because they'll be down most likely for a couple of days. I know this is a lot to read and I hope someone can help. Thank you, Sarah
