good wedding bands for smaller groups/venues?

Hi everyone,

I've been searching through old posts to find good wedding bands, but I'm having trouble figuring out which ones would be good in more intimate settings.

We're planning on having 80-90 guests, and the room is the right size for that crowd (sit-down dinner) and a smaller dance floor.  Our venue won't have a big stage or anything for one of these huge 10-person bands, and I'm nervous about the band having enough room to set up.

Does anyone have any ideas?  Or did you have this problem? We'd really prefer a band to a DJ, but this is so tough to figure out!

Thanks!!!!!

I would stick to a 5-6 piece band, and it'll work out perfectly.  Don't worry about where the band needs to setup or how much room they need - they're pros and will take care of that on their own.

I agree with PP about a band size of 5-6 people.  I loved the band that played our wedding, Soul Revival!  They were amazing!  I know they offer a smaller band size which sounds like it would work for your space.  Their website is:  www.soulrevivalband.com

747 Orchestra has a smaller group that is just as fabulous as they are.  They have been playing weddings for 29 years and easy to see why...they play Everything and then some.  Their R&B is the bomb.  :)  747orchestra.com
Also a delight to work with=they played everything we wanted and more.
