Has anyone used Bella Photographer's? What did you think of them? I'm tryng hard to find a good photographer, but we are really on a limited budget. What photographers did you all use and did any of you use someone that was around 1,000 or a little more?

Bella Photography was just bought by Walmart. So be careful... not sure if they are keeping the same staff.

Picking a photographer will depend on what you "want"..... Our photographer was around $4500 but that was 2 photographers, all day coverage, engagement session, all of the pictures on dvd, copyrights, 10x10 album, same day slideshow, etc.

I think our photographer has a couple of plans around $1,000, but I don't think they include an album.  His website is www.dhumphreys.com.

I woudl stay far, far away from Bella phots.  They truly were just bought by the company that runs both Wal-Mart and Sears portrait studios.  (There was a pretty funny thread a while back about wedding photos with 80's laser backgrounds with this happened...)

For only a grand, I would say that your best bet is to contact some photography schols in the area (University of the Arts spring to mind) and see if they have some students looking for experience.  From what I have seen of people who have used Bella/The Pros/etc, yes, your photos will come out better this way.

A friend of mine is a make-up artist and she recently wanted to add some more photos to her portfolio  so she commissioned a friend of hers to do the work. She took some engagement photos of my FI and I and they came out great. While we are not using her for our wedding (we already signed a contract with a different photographer), she is INCREDIBLY talented. She is a professional photographer in a firm, but freelances for weddings. I doubt she does albums, but I'm sure she must be under $1000. If you want her information, I'd be glad to share.

I am using Photography by Leah, I just switched my photographer with less than 6 months to go till the wedding.  I talked to other brides here on the knot, one of the brides here shared her pictures with me and talked to her on the phone.  I felt very comfortable just chatting on the phone with her.  Her pricing ranges from $1250-$2850.  She is very willing to work with people on a budget.  We are getting her and her husband as our photographers, a cd of our pictures that are fully edited for 8 hours of coverage for $2,000.

Her website is www.photographybyleah.com and she has a facebook page. Good luck!
