HELP! MIGHT be moving out of country?

I see lots of posts in many communities about having a registry when you're moving out of state or out of country, but here's the thing.  FI is in the process of trying to secure a job that would require us to move out of the country.  Very exciting and awesome, BUT!  it's a long process, and I won't know for a few months whether they will take him on, and even then, we may not even know exactly what country we're going to be relocated to by the time we get married (May 2013).  Should I keep my registry light?  Should I strangle my wonderful FI for suddenly deciding to do this ;) ?

  • I would go ahead and register. I mean if you do move, you're going to have to ship all your furniture, etc right? When my friend moved to England that's what they did. So even if you register for and receive bigger items, just ship it with the rest of your stuff.

True.  My main concern is how much it will cost for us to ship all of it.  I'm dreading that bill haha.

  • This was exactly the case with my sister and her fiance when they were planning to move to France after the wedding for his job. They used Zankyou wedding registry so they could register for things they wanted but then the company gave them the money to buy the things later, when they could. In France. Hope that helps.
