It is way too long and I dont want to wear much of a heel since my fiances short (I know it doesnt matter but I still). It is syle V8377 on David's Bridal's site. I was told by my seamstress that it couldn't be done without loosing the detail on the bottom since it doesnt have a seam at the waist.
Re: Ideas on how to hem this dress?
[QUOTE]If you can't order it in a shorter length, your only option is going to be to remove and re-applique the pieces. You can't even create a waist seam because of the detail at the waist. It will be pricey if you want to do that- the alteration could easily cost as much as the gown if not more.

This. The lace should be attached to the dress in such away that it can simply be taken off and moved up. I don't know how expensive it is but it can be done.
well, i think u can cut the middle of the skirt up, and then re-sew it on.but then it'll have an ugly seam. but u can actually do an invisble seam on it.
make sure to get a fashion designer do it, they are better than seamstresses. but get a student who just graduated from college to do it, that way it'll be kinda cheap.
or u can just cut and sew it, but cver the seam with a single layer of lace or lace with beadings. it'll be a lot of work but i think no one will notice it that way.(do it urself)
