Suggestions on comfortable heels

I have problems with my feet and I can't wear anything higher than a 2 - 2 1/2 heel. And 2 1/2 is pushing it. If the shoe is too arched my feet hurt after 2 minutes of wearing them. So I need to go with a 2 in heel/sandal for my wedding. Any suggestions on pretty but comfortable wedding heels? I may end up buying platform sandals to change into for the reception but I would prefer not to. And I don't want to wear flats. I will either buy ivory or possibly red too.

Re: Suggestions on comfortable heels

  • You may be surprised if you go with something with room in the toe bed, and with a more substantial heel and an ankle strap.  Other than that, I'd recommend Aerosoles (reasonably priced) or Cole Haan with air technology (splurge).  Some of their shoes might be a little plain but could be blinged up with a shoe clip or etc.

  • comfortable heels? Sounds like an oxymoron. I think a wide heel would be better.

check out the cole haan shoes--on sale today. here is my invite to Ru La La.

They have Nike air technology--but I've never tried them.

I'm going with a 2 1/2 Nina shoe as I also get a lot of pain in my feet. Have you considered heels for the ceremony and switching later that night into flats?
  • I like the dyeable shoes because there are a lot of choices in the 1.5" to 2.5" heel range.

shoebuy.com has a good selection (and free shipping both ways).
  • aerosoles and naturalizer have the most comfortable shoes ever.
  • i would go with pretty flats/sandals

or have two pairs of shoes....

im guilty of having 3 pairs for the wedding (flats for the ceremony, heels for the begining of the reception, and flip flops for when my feet hurt)
  • for a friend's wedding I bought ballroom dance shoes and that was the best decision i could've ever made. they have nice low heels and are SUPER comfy, and they're MADE to be danced in all night. i was going to do the same for mine, but i found a pair at David's Bridal with a 2" heel that i fell in love with. =)

  • I wore Cole Haan Air Elly Cross-Cross wedges from 11a-1am and never took them off.  So comfortable!  I added a shoe clip to jazz them up.  They're from Spring 2009, but you can find them on ebay for ~$60.

  • Kenneth cole makes the most comfortable heels! And he has cute ones with 2 inch heels or less. GL!

I wonder if Prince William and Kate are registered at Target?
  • Thanks for the recs. I'm going to check out all these sites. I am considering buying wedge sandals( which I am normally comfortable in) for the reception. I don't want flats because my FI is 6'1 and I'm 5'6 so I would rather not. But thanks for the ideas :)  The pain in my feet is a big issue for me.
  • I got Nina shoes. They're very comfortable and ahve a 2 in heel. I agree with PP that Kenneth Cole and Naturalizer both make super comfortable shoes.
