How much time did you need before the ceremony to do pictures? We're a bit concern on the time that we have.

We started taking pictures at 2:00.  We spent about 10 minutes taking pictures with the family right in Pearson Park where we got ready. The limo (which was supposed to be there at 2:00) picked us up at 2:15 and we went downtown to take more pictures.  We were not rushing at all, and walked around to a few different places to take pictures.  We were wrapped up and back to Pearson Park by 4:00 so we could "relax" before our 4:30 ceremony.  When the ceremony was over, I decided that I wanted a few pictures in the park since otherwise we were just going to have the ceremony photos from there.  We all piled into the limo and rode around the block once so our guests would head to the reception.  We took like another 20 minutes worth of photos and then went to the reception hall.  Our guests ended up with about a 30-40 minute long cocktail "hour" depending on how quickly they left the ceremony and went to the reception hall.

I would talk to your photographer to see how long they want to have, but I would allow extra time as opposed to not enough.  I think the biggest advantage of taking pictures before is so that you aren't rushed, so why put yourself in a position to be rushed?

Edit: Also, all of the picture taking included the bridal party coming with us.  If you are just looking for a few bridal party pictures are the ceremony site and are planning to have your main photo session be bride/groom only, that would definitely save you some time.

Exactly! I wanted to make sure there was plenty of time to get some nice photos of everyone. Thank you so much!
