Transportation help

Hello ladies,

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for inexpensive transportation for a large group.  I really only need transportation between the church and reception so that we can take photos (about 3 hours), but I don't want to spend a ton of money.  Any ideas?

Thanks,
-S.

  • I will sugguest who not to go though, do not book Entertaiment Express!
  • I used Blue Diamond Limo and I would definintely recommend the company because the driver was great, the limo was really nice, and the price was the best. However, I needed the bus to fit at minimum 25 people so I reserved the "30 person" bus but actually 3-4 people had to stand and everyone else was pretty crammed. They claim they sent the right bus so either they didn't or they over exagerate the size so make sure to discuss that if you do use them. I have used probably 2-3 limo party buses a year for the last 4 years and they were the best so far. You can find ones a little cheaper probably but you may not end up with a very nice vehicle or service. I honestly dont think inexpensive and transportation for a large group go together, it will be pricy probably no matter what. If you are really looking low budget and don't really mind the quality, look around for companies that rent out old school buses.
  • I got a limo bus from The Night Move. Was about $375 + tip for 3 hours. However, I also rented a hotel shuttle through them, so I may have gotten a discount, but still not a bad price.

The bus was nothing special on the inside, but it was sufficient and I liked having the bus to get in and out of in my dress vs. a limo.

  • Meegles-

I contacted the Night Move in July based on an older post that you made and they never got back to me.  It worries me a little when vendors do that and I wonder if they will also not respond once I've booked with them.  Did you have any communication problems with them?

    Thanks,
    -S.
  • I didn't have any communication problems until the week of, and at that time, the only issue was them getting me a final driver's name for the day of. They were still working out scheduling, and just didn't have it right when I wanted it. I communicated with Chris, and he was very responsive.

  • I tried to book the Night Move a couple weeks ago... and they were very quick at responding to my questions... until I wanted to book.

I've emailed them three times, and called twice and haven't heard back from them. I ended up going with a different company, but the Night Move had way better deals. I just wish they would have responded back.

I'm using PartyBus Detroit. For $600 we get 3.5 hours for a 24 passanger party bus. That includes, tax, fuel, gratuity, red carpet roll out, champagne, cups, ice, and unlimited stops during the 3 hours.

  • The school bus idea might actually be kind of cute since I'm a teacher.  Has anyone done this before?  Any suggestions?

    Thanks!
