Sorry that my first post in like 2 weeks is a rant, but I was livid. (have since calmed down but still had to share!).
OK - I got this email from a coworker. I'm Courtney; the other three names are our 3 APs (student names changed): ----- Original Message -----

Both girls had no planner with them; they were just out for a joy walk, I
suppose.
If we are going to allow students to roam the hallways without planners, my
classes will be a lot better if I send out some students every class period.
Are we going to be on the same page, Team Peet?

I thought Maria had her planner with her. Is this the infraction for Maria's referral? Maria was trying to open her locker and could not; she then came back to the classroom and asked me if Beth could open it for her. I could have certainly cleared up this confusion on the initial reason the girls were in the 8th grade hallway.

Are we going to be on the same page, Team Peet?I am not certain of the "we" you refer to as I personally don't "allow students to roam the hallways" as they please. I am sorry that you have such difficulties with your classes that you would prefer to "send out some students every class period" to make them better, but I don't have that issue.
I would like to believe that we are on the same page and that if a student is out of area and causing a disruption, the student would receive the appropriate correction and consequence. As a courtesy, I would also notify the student's teacher of the situation as you have done. Please do know that I am only a phone call or email away should there be any further issues.
