  Sorry, South Eastern Michigan. We live in Ann Arbor, but are from Detroit. Anywhere within 30 mins or so to the Detroit area is fine by us!

  Off top of my head:
  
  St. Josephat in Warren
  St. Mary's Cultural in Livonia (beautiful, but would only work for Friday or Sunday wedding, and you have to supply your own liquor which can be costly)
  Hawthorne Valley Country Club in Westland (where myself and shesheduke are holding our receptions $36/pp)

  The Mirage has GREAT speacils for off season weddings, $30/33 per person for buffet, and $34/$37 per person for family style in months of jan, feb, april and november!! goodluck

  Oh, I will have roughly 150 guests (invitng 194 but have OOT family), sheshe is having like 220, both Saturday weddings.  You have to have a minimum guest count of 125 at Hawthorne.

  
  

  That's another thing I liked about Hawthorne (minimum count), a lot of the reception venues want you to guarantee 150-200 people. That's not feasible when you're on a budget.

  Look at Silver Shores in Wyndottte.  It is so beautiful but too small for us.  Very reasonable prices.

  Cobblestone Farms in Ann Arbor is reasonable (it was $750 for A2 residents to rent a couple of years ago). They only allow beer and wine, but that will help keep costs down for you anyhow. They don't do food, so you'd have to find a caterer, but i think the basic linens and tables are included (I may be wrong though). You could also try doing something on a Friday or Sunday or do a cocktail reception with hors d'ouevres to help keep the cost down. As well Earhart Manor at Concordia College in A2 was pretty reasonable if I remember correctly.
